Subnauticafans have thrown their weight behind aLegoset of The Aurora, reaching 10,000 supporters onLego Ideas. This is enough for the proposal to be considered for release, meaning we might get this piece of Subnautica merch in our hands as we wait for news on the widely anticipated third game.
Subnautica: The Aurora would be a Lego set made of 2,991 pieces. The creators say that it would be 12.5 inches tall and 22.5 inches long. A video mockup shows that it would be pretty detailed inside too, so you could leave it semi-exposed and display some of the interior.

As reported byThe Brick Fan, Subnautica and Lego enthusiasts alike loved the idea, and it’s now reached the 10,000 supporter milestone. This means that the design will be considered for an official release. If it’s deemed to be practical to launch and likely to find buying customers, then we could see it released before the next game, the third instalment in the Subnautica series.
Right now, all we know about the third game is thatwe’ll get some news about its early access release in the new year. Some took this to mean that it will launch in 2024, but the developers over at Unknown Worlds certainly haven’t confirmed this, simply promising an update at some point in the year. In fact, they’ve since said that early access itself “will need a little bit longer in the Fabricator”, so don’t expect to be playing anytime soon.
We don’t even know when that news will come, but if the devs are already giving us a heads-up, that might mean that an announcement will be made sooner rather than later. Though in fairness, the game may have been announced a little earlier than intended. Fans found out about a third Subnautica title after it wasmentioned in a financial report, scheduled for early 2025. Shortly after, Unknown Worlds admitted that it was in the works, since we all knew about it at that point anyway.
At least in the meantime, we might be able to assemble a Lego replica of The Aurora. The project getting 10,000 backers doesn’t confirm that it will get a release, but it means the Lego team will at least consider it. The proposal looks incredibly professional and practical, so there’s a chance the higher-ups will like what they see.
