Spider-Man 2’s director, Bryan Intihar, has once again teased the possibility of Daredevil joining the game somehow, just days after it seemed like we’d heard the last of it.
It might have only been two weeks since Spider-Man 2 launched, but it seems that a lot of players are already looking ahead to the game’s future, with many hoping for some kind of DLC expansion like the first game received. Although there are a ton of directions that Spider-Man 2 could go in for an expansion, the one that seems the most likely right now is something to do with Daredevil, which seems to have been teased several times in the base game.
It’s worth noting that Insomniac Games hasn’t yet confirmed whether Spider-Man 2 will even receive an expansion, or if the team will just move onto its other projects like Wolverine.
The teases for a Daredevil expansion started when the game first released and it was discovered that the Nelson and Murdock building from the first game didn’t have the pair’s name on the sign. The game was then updated to show an eviction notice on the same building, before receiving another update that added the Nelson and Murdock sign back to the building and removed the pink slip.
At first, it seemed like this was some kind of mistake on Insomniac’s part, but the team acknowledged the sign and eviction notice several times after the game’s launch, making it seem purposeful and like it was a tease for the future. Although it seemed like the sign being added back to the game was a, ahem, signthat the situation was resolved for now and that we’d heard the last of the potential Daredevil expansion, Spider-Man 2’s director has once again cheekily teased it.
As reported by VGCandoriginally pointed out by Twitter user SpiderManCD, Bryan Intihar took part in a listening party for the game’s soundtrack with several other members of Insomniac Games. Although most of the listening party isn’t that eventful and is just a nice celebration of the game’s music, there was one interesting tease towards the end.
As the listening party wrapped up and the livestream just started to cut out, Bryan Intihar could cheekily be heard asking, “where is Daredevil?”, which earned some laughs from the rest of the members of the party. Although it’s likely nothing more than a little nod to all of the rumours, it does add some evidence to a potential expansion if even the game’s director is continuing to joke about it and keep fuelling the flames.
