Who do you think would taste the best out of theStreet Fighter 2 roster? Well, wonder no more, because apparently, we’re about to find out. A range ofStreet Fighterhot sauces are going on sale in stores across the UK, with each flavour based on a different character.
From Ryu’s Dragon Blaze to Chun-Li’s Spinning Tornado, there’s a range of flavours to choose from, and all take inspiration from their character’s moveset. Admittedly, we’ve got no idea if they taste any good or not, but with the sauces popping up in HMV stores around the country, expect to see this as a stocking filler if your family knows you’ve played Street Fighter before.
As well as coming in different flavours, each sauce has its own spice level. Being a wimp, it looks like the only one I might have a good time with is Dhalsim’s Mystic Serenity, which appears to be of a medium spice level. On the other end of the scale, we have Blanka’s Electric Firestorm, which would probably knock me on my ass faster than any of the characters could.
There are nine flavours altogether, which can be bought separately at £6 a pop, or in gift packs of three at £15. Again, I can’t vouch for the taste here, but it would certainly make for a memorable present, that’s for sure.
The Street Fighter hot sauces have the full backing ofCapcom, as per the website. So who knows? Maybe we can expect more unique merch like this as we get into the holidays.
If your local HMV has gone the way of so many and closed its doors, you can pick the sauces up online. Who knows? Maybe come Christmas day, you’ll be lathering your turkey in Ryu’s juices. Or maybe not, because I have no idea if turkey goes well with hot sauce. Again, though, it would be memorable.
It’s been a good year for Street Fighter fans on the whole.Street Fighter 6was a huge success and has been nominated for best fighting game at The Game Awards. It bagged three nominations in total, as it’s also up for best multiplayer, and innovations in accessibility.
Prior to this, it got four nominations at the Golden Joystick awards, but lost them all. This included best multiplayer, which wasvery controversially won by Mortal Kombat 1- a fighter that doesn’t have crossplay, launched with a player-one advantage, and has faced widespread criticism for its monetisation and lack of content. Many will be hoping that we don’t see a repeat of this at The Game Awards.
