Widely considered to be the best game from the Silent Hill series, and with very positive reviews, there’s every chance its remake performs well.

After more than a decade since the last game in the series was released, Silent Hill fans have been hungry for something new for a while. Similarly to Resident Evil, Konami has decided to pass over the first game in the Silent Hill series and skipped straight to its second chapter to kick off what might well be the first in a series of modern remakes. Likely in part because Silent Hill 2 is considered to be the best, but also because the original game was technically already remade for theNintendo Wiiin 2009.

Additional Content
If you’re excited for the return of Silent Hill, there are two editions of the remake to choose from. Despite that, the finer details are a little confusing.According to Konami’s website, even though there is a bonus for pre-ordering the Silent Hill 2 Remake, it only comes with the digital version of the game - a Mira the Dog Mask to change up James’s in-game appearance. Just to make things even more confusing, the second pre-order bonus - a Robbie the Rabbit in-game mask - is not only digital-only, but you only get it when you pre-order aPS5copy of the game.
Silent Hill 2 Remake has a deluxe edition that pairs a digital copy of the base game with a soundtrack, artbook, and an in-game Pyramid Head freebie.

Since the remake’s deluxe edition is digital only, you don’t need to worry about what you might miss out on by going with a physical version because, well, there isn’t one. The Robbie mask is still PS5 only, but you will get 48 hours of early access on either platform if you pre-order the deluxe edition. The extra $10 you pay will get you digital versions of the game’s artbook and soundtrack, and also a pizza box Pyramid Head mask for James to add to your haul. Not nearly as intimidating as the real thing, and not something that’s going to help you when you confront the terrifying villain. It looks funny, though.
Silent Hill 2’s remake will be released on PS5 andSteamon June 09, 2025, and those of you who pre-order the deluxe edition will be able to start playing two days early from October 6.
