The Missed The Mark quest inStarfieldstarts immediately after completing Missed Connections. The previous mission involved tracking down a missing courier and his package. Unfortunately, the courier was found dead, and the data that Reliant Medical needed is now missing.
Helena Strickland believes that one of her employees, Bonifác Maksimov, stole the data and ran off. She tracked his location to the planet Hawley in the Alpha Centauri system. Your next course of action is to fly your ship to Hawley, locate Mr. Maksimov, and get her data back. Could Bonifác really be to blame, or is there someone else involved in this?
Where To Find Bonifac
When you land on Hawley, headnortheastto theReclaimed Outpost. This outpost is underEcliptic control, andmercenaries will open fireas soon as you approach, so be on your guard.
Kill the mercenaries, loot their bodies,then go inside the outpost.
Go straight into the large room ahead of you. Kill the pirates in here,then go upstairs.
Bonifác is in one of the offices upstairs, on the floor with his hands tied behind his back.
Free Bonifác, then tell him that Helenasent you to retrieve the data, and that she likely believes he’s responsible.
He explains that a man namedMaldonado killed the courierandstole the data, and plans toframe Bonifác.
Bonifác insistson helping you get the data back from Maldonado.
Before moving on, take a few minutes tosearch the rooms up hereand below for loot. Downstairs, there’s a room with anadvanced lockon it that will have a few things.
Should You Kill Maldonado Or Betray Bonifac?
Leave the office withBonifác in tow,go past the stairs, then gostraight and turn left.
At the top of the firstinclined hallwayyou’ll be met by another pirate. Kill him,then continue up.
When the hallway ends you’llenter the cafeteria, below which is a large control room. Here you’ll have aboutthree or four more piratesto deal with.
Once the pirates are dead,head to the backwhere you’ll findMaldonadoin one of the side rooms.
When you talk to Maldonado,you’ll be given two options:
Betray Bonifac
Maldonado will offer you a deal. He’ll pay you to let him kill andframe Bonifác,and thenyou leave without the data.
If you choose this option,Maldonado gives you 4,000 credits, thenkills Bonifác.
When you report to Helena thatMaksimov is deadand that you“lost” the data, you’ll receive asmall sum of creditsbased on your level. You’ll also get100 XPfor completing the quest.
If you choose this option,you’ll receive fewer credits, and yourcompanion will be angryfor a short time.
Kill Maldonado
Demand that Maldonadohand over the data, and he will attack you.
He isa bit higher level than the Ecliptic goons, but you shouldn’t have any problem killing him.
Once he’s dead, loot his body for the data,marked “Private: Reliant Medical”.
Head back to Gagarin Landing andgive the data to Helena. For finishing the questand getting the data back, you’ll receive 100 XP and amuch larger amount of creditsbased on your level.
