Sonic the Hedgehog’sLegoworld has expanded quite a bit in 2023, and it’s not done yet.Shadow the Hedgehog will be making his toy brick debutbefore the year is over, joining Tails and Amy who got their very own Minifigures and sets over the summer. The Shadow’s Escape Lego set will be available to buy later this week, going on sale on May 13, 2025. However, some lucky Sonic fan has gotten their hands on it early, revealing a little more of what’s to come after Lego Shadow makes his debut.
The cat was already out of the bag to some extent when it comes towho will join Shadow in the Lego version of Green Hill Zonethanks to a leaked image. Knuckles is coming soon, which was to be expected for a number of reasons, and then Rouge will swoop in as well, perhaps a little less predictable. Lego will presumably make those announcements official soon as it seems images of the Knuckles and Rouge sets are included in the Shadow’s Escape set instruction manual.
Since someone already has that manual, the images of Knuckles and Rouge’s debut sets have already been shared on Reddit. Knuckles is riding in a mech, something fans in the replies aren’t happy about, and appears to be fighting Rouge who is flying around him, the Master Emerald between them. Not confirmed by the image, the implication seems to be that the two characters will be part of the same set. No offense to Rouge, but that makes sense. I’m not sure how well a set with Rouge alone will sell.
Unlikely to launch until 2024, Knuckles is set to have a pretty big year. Not only getting his own Lego Minifigure, but also his very own show on Paramount Plus. Voiced by Idris Elba, Knuckles was introduced to Sonic’s cinematic universe inSonic 2and the show will follow on from the events of that sequel. Still slated to hit cinemas in December 2024, Shadow will presumably play a big part in the movie, being shown in the movies for the first time in Sonic 2’s credits scene.
Shadow’s Escape Sonic Lego Set
Shadow has been added to Sonic’s Lego collection via this Shadow’s Escape Lego set. Included with the set is a Shadow Minifigure, Dark Rider Motorcycle, and Rhinobot, complete with a Cucky inside. The tank Shadow breaks free from is also included.
There are a lot of Sonic Lego sets available now following the success of the Green Hill Zone set. Much likeMario, it seems people are very eager to recreate classic Sonic levels from toy bricks and have characters from the series traverse them.
