Sand Land, the game based on the manga byDragon Ball Zcreator Akira Toriyama, finally has a release date of April 26, meaning it’s just a few months until we get to experience Beezebub’s adventures.
We’re just a few weeks into 2024 and the year is already shaping up to be a big one for anime games. Next month we haveJujutsu Kaisen: Cursed Clash, followed up by aDemon Slayer minigame collection on Switch just a few months later. We also have a Hunter x Hunter fighting game, the long-awaited fourth Budokai Tenkaichi game in the form of Sparking: Zero, and, right near the middle of the year mark, the Sand Land gaming adaptation.
We’ve known about the Sand Land game for less than a year nowafter it was originally revealed during Summer Game Fest 2023, but things have felt a little slow on the announcement side since then. We’ve had a few trailers for the game, but nothing major has been revealed about it for some time - until earlier this week, that is.
As confirmed by a brand-new trailer shared by Bandai Namco just a few days ago, Sand Land will be releasing in just a few months on April 26. The new trailer dives into the story of the world of Sand Land a little more, including revealing a “mysterious mechanic” named Ann who joins Beelzebub on his journey.
Beyond teasing Beelzebub’s journey to find the Legendary Spring, we also see plenty of footage of the gang exploring new areas that are a little less sandy than we’ve seen in previous trailers. The trailer also showcases gameplay of Beelzebub using various different kinds of mechs to explore the world and take on enemies, which is one of the core mechanics of Sand Land.
It seems to be a pretty big year for Sand Land in general, as thelong-awaited anime series that first debuted in Japan last Summer was finally confirmed to be coming to Hulu in Spring.
Beyond confirming that Sand Land is just a few months away from launch, the new trailer also revealed that the game will be getting a deluxe edition and a collector’s edition that each come with some extra goodies, the highlight of them being a statue of Beelzebub that is exclusive to the collector’s edition of the game.
