Updated June 09, 2025, By Seth Parmer:Since its release, the new Feendrache stage has been added to Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, giving us the perfect excuse to revisit this list and toss it in. You can find where it sits amongst the rest in the list below that will surely expand over the coming months when new characters are added to the mix!
15Pandemonium
Kicking things off is the Pandemonium stage in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, a solid arena to battle in overall but held back by its grey and brown color scheme, having the sky contrast everything with the bright orange sun setting in the background.
Pandemonium isn’t a terrible map per se. It’s just sort of a boring one, not offering much outside of its gorgeous sunset. And, while it is placed as the lowest rank, we still enjoy it quite a bit, which bodes well for the later stages we will be visiting.

14Dyroit Belt
In a similar fashion to Pandemonium, the Dyroit Belt stage is also a tad boring but offers splashes of green and red, along with a gorgeous skybox to look out into, with puffy clouds and lovely blue highlights.
Overall, Dyroit Belt is another solid stage that unfortunately lacks that special ‘something’ some of the latter arenas possess. It’s not a terrible stage to brawl in, but there are better ones out there, which we will tackle a bit later.

13Fremel Island
Placing Fremel Island was far trickier than we imagined, as this volcanic stage with molten and active lava with spiked mountains and volcanic structures littering the background as far as the eye can be a bit repetitive.
Still, the lovely oranges and reds contrasted by the deep black rocks and shadows really make everything pop. This is a fantastic stage, but we feel the other ones unlisted so far are much better at setting a specific tone and atmosphere.

12Amalthea
Amalthea is a perfect example of how a stage can drive home the arena’s tone and atmosphere, taking place in a wartorn kingdom, with bodies strewn amongst the ground, broken walls with craters on the floor, and much more.
This stage also handles color exceptionally well, giving you hints of green and blue, which really help contrast the smoke emitting from the grey rubble and stone structures. It’s a surprisingly solid stage, but better offerings are still out there.

11Celestial View
Celestial View was another tricky one to place, as it is very reminiscent of Pandemonium, except instead of a floating structure in the background in front of a sunset, we get floating tocks in front of a sizeable cosmic whirlwind, with the sun rising over the horizon.
Simply put, this map has an excellent color pallet and just enough of a unique identity to fling it to the number ten spot. While an argument can be made for Amalthea being switched with it, we feel this map is far easier on the eyes and interesting overall.

10Town Of Albion
Following that is the Town of Albion, which places you inside a rainy town with onlookers positioned under an overpass to evade getting soaked. This stage is excellent, as the lights from the windows help make things feel oddly cozy and welcoming.
Additionally, the luscious green plants with hints of whites, reds, and blues help bring a relatively drab-looking stage to life, making it one of the game’s best offerings for a stage. We also love how the characters stand out in this arena, as nothing is too distracting in the background.

9Colosseum
Next is the Colosseum stage, a sizeable royal arena with red flags and banners on the left and blue flags and banners on the right, with gorgeous architecture in the center. Despite most of the stage sporting a brown color scheme, the epicness of it saves it quite convincingly.
Colosseum does an excellent job of selling the vibes and general atmosphere of an arena of its kind. It gives you a large open area to fight in, with onlooking knights and guards, in front of some of the game’s most striking visuals and architecture.

8Grandcypher
Grandcypher is our next stage, which takes place on a massive airship moving through the sky, giving offFinal Fantasyvibes. This map has everything you could want and more, giving us the freedom of the sky that helps contrast the deep brown wood and dark metal structures.
Lanterns also illuminate the railings, and we can also see people resting in the background, driving home the adventurous vibes you naturally get from being on an airship. We wonder if Cid is anywhere on board.

7Jewel Resort Casino
Moving on from the open skies, we are now entering the Jewel Resort Casino, placing us inside a wrestling ring, where onlookers have gathered around the outside to cheer - or boo - us on, making hype moments even more hype.
Jewel Resort Casino is a stunning stage, giving us deep gold and bright yellows in the background, along with rich purple highlights and lovely lush greens from the palm trees. While barely missing the top five, this stage deserves lots of love as it is one of the more visually striking in the game.

6Auguste Isles
Just missing our top five is Auguste Isles, a stage that puts you on a coastline, with a half-naked man fishing on a large rock in the background alongside a full-clothed man. Ignoring that for just a moment, this stage has everything we’ve been preaching about this whole time and then some.
Auguste Isles' lovely blue water crashing into the light brown sand lends itself expertly to the bright green moss-covered rocks and the lush trees and plants on the island deep in the background. This stage is peaceful and lovely all around.
