There are now eightPokemonSquishmallowsto collect followingthe additions of Clefairy and Teddiursajust in time for the holidays last year. Pokemon appears to have learned its lesson when it comes to supply meeting demand on the Squishmallow front as right now, the two new additions are in stock at the Pokemon Center. Either that or they’re not as popular as the original four, particularly Gengar whose Squishmallow is almost always out of stock.
Signs that the original four Squishmallows, including Gengar, will be restocked more regularly have started to manifest with the popular Ghost-type’s 14-inch Squishmallow now available at Walmart. Slightly bigger than the original 12-inch version, which is a Pokemon Center exclusive, Walmart’s Gengar is a little bit more expensive due to that extra size. An extra $5 for the bonus two inches you get by buying this version of the plush.
Vigilance and attention to detail are key when it comes to picking up Pokemon Squishmallows online anywhere other than the Pokemon Center. Not only because those with stock will be trying to resell their Squishmallows for twice the usual price, but some listings will be lower quality versions of the real thing. The Gengar in stock through the link below at Walmart right now appears to be the real deal and hasn’t been priced by someone trying to rip off those desperate to add the Pokemon to their collection.

Gengar is one of the hardest Pokemon Squishmallows to find, so the Walmart stock probably won’t be around for long. Togepi is the other Pokemon from the first wave that’s difficult to track down and remains out of stock pretty much everywhere unless you’re lucky enough to stumble across one in an actual store. There may well be new Squishmallows added to the collection shortly too. Nothing official announced, buta Dutch site has listings for Dragonite and Marill additions.
