Controllers are incredibly innovative and advanced in 2023. ThePS5’s DualSenseis arguably the biggest advantage it has over theSeries X, andNintendo’s Joy-Con - potential drift aside - have continued the studio’s run of setting itself apart from the competition through its peripherals. Those advances come at a price though, and most of today’s controllers cost a lot of money. They don’t have to though, nor do cheaper options have to be boring. Especially when you’re able to pick up a controller from PDP’s Relamz collection for just $30.
PDP has gradually been adding controllers to its Relamz collection throughout the second half of 2023,releasing options with PikminandOptimus Prime figurinesincluded in the handle. The collectionkicked off with a range of Sonic controllersthough, and now some of those Sonic options are available on Amazon for their lowest price yet.
There are a few Sonic options in the Realmz collection, with Tails, Knuckles, and the blue blur himself getting their own controllers. Only a couple of them are down to $29.99 right now, the wired versions of the Sonic and Tails options you will be taken directly to by clicking the links in the box below. Sonic Green Hill Zone PDP REALMz Controller
PDP’s REALMz controllers are officially licensed and each contains a collectible figurine. The Sonic one has the hedgehog in the left grip and a Green Hill Zone motif across the rest of the controller.
As noted, there arePikminandTransformersRealmz controllers available too. Only the wireless version of the Pikmin controller is in stock right now, and not on sale, but you can pick up the wired version of the Transformers controller for slightly less, it’s just not had its price cut by as much as the Sonic and Tails controllers.
The Sonic controller is featured in ourbest gaming gifts for kids guide, so its price cut lines up perfectly for anyone looking for a stocking stuffer or last-minute present for a little one. Double check it will be with you before December 25, though. Right now, its store page is telling me the controller will be delivered by December 23, but where you are in the world will change that, and ordering anything this close to Christmas, even with a delivery date guarantee, is always a risk.
