Palworldplayers are only just realising that catching duplicate Pals is one of the best ways to level up your character quickly, as it gives you a bonus for each of the same Pal you catch.

Although Palworld has only been out for a couple of days now (record-breaking days, at that) that hasn’t stopped its players from diving deep into the game and figuring out all of its mechanics. Some of those are fun ways to break the game, like standing on top of Pal Spheres to get an instant boost into the air, while others are essential tips that some players seem to be ignoring.

In games that focus on capturing monsters and filling out a Pokedex equivalent by trying to “catch them all”, it can sometimes be tempting to ignore the creatures that you’ve already added to your team before. Why get the same thing when you can get something brand-new, right? Well, that’s a mindset that you’re apparently going to want to break out of for Palworld.

Over on the Palworld subreddit, a lot of players are complaining about levelling up slowly and not being strong enough to take on some of the game’s more powerful enemies, leaving it up to their Pals while they hide in the corner. As pointed out by Redditor naiohme, there’s a simple fix for this - catching duplicates.

That’s right, instead of just focusing on getting one of everything but the Pals you like the most, players should be trying to get as many of the same Pal as possible, as doing so will grant an XP bonus that increases depending on how many of the same Pal you’ve captured. One example that naiohme points out is that even catching more common Pals like Lamballs and Chipkis will give you a ton of XP when you get 10 of them.

Although Palworld has been a massive success since its launch, players have also been calling out its “lazy” interpretations of Pokemonand even suggested that it might be using AI to generate its designs. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it’s worth noting if you’re interested in the game.

Despite this being something that’s mentioned in the tutorial for Palworld, it seems like a lot of players still aren’t doing it and having a harder time levelling up, even though naiohme says that catching 10 of the same Pal can actually completely level you up most of the time.
