Only a few days ago, we were reporting thatPalworld had sold three million copies, but that number has already more than doubled. It has now sold seven million copies in five days, beatingPokemon Legends: Arceus’first week.

Arceus was a huge success for Nintendo, becoming the fastest-selling Pokemon game to date at the time. It sold 6.5 million copies in one week, beating Sword and Shield’s six million. As reported byMy Nintendo News, Palworld topped both with its impressive seven million sales, which is not even factoring in Xbox sales or the number of players on Game Pass.

Palworld still has two days to go before its first week is up, so that number will only continue to skyrocket. For comparison, it hit an impressive200,000 concurrent players on Steamat launch, but that number has since risen to a staggering 1.8 million. It’s nowthe second most-played game on the platform, only beaten by PUBG’s all-time peak of 3.2 million.

It’s worth noting that, at least regarding Steam sales, Palworld hasn’t topped Scarlet and Violet yet which sold ten million copies in its first three days alone, setting a new record for the Nintendo Switch. Factoring in Xbox sales, Palworld may be closer than we think, but for the time being, it still has some catching up to do.

At any rate, it has now beaten a slew of incredibly popular games on Steam in terms of concurrent player peaks. The top ten as of today looks like this:

While Palworld is a huge success, it’s not without its controversy. It has been called out over the past few days for how similar its Pals are to Pokemon, with allegations even raised of usingNintendo modelsdirectly.

However, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe says thatthe game cleared legal reviewsand no action was taken.
