Spider-Man 2’s roving goon platoons are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re going to get, but if you pick the wrong one, you’re going to get hurt (assume that you have a bad nut allergy in this scenario and the metaphor works just fine). Every game has to have boundaries. As sprawling asGrand Theft Auto 6’s Vice City will end up being, there will still be an end to the map. In a game that big, you can explore for hundreds of hours without hitting an invisible wall, but the walls are still there. In a linear game, the boundaries are just narrower and you hit them more frequently. Alan Wake 2’s boundaries are a little nebulous....

Regular readers of TheGamer may remember that four of us recently playedSuper Mario Bros. Wondertogether, andit was carnage. Not the fun sort of carnage though, just a very disorganised exercise in avoiding playing the game as it should be to cater to specifics of the multiplayer challenge. At the end of Marvel Snap’s Loki-themed season in September, developer Second Dinner introduced the card Mobius M. Mobius, which immediately had a big impact on the game. The 2-cost, 3-power card has an Ongoing effect that prevents your cards from having their cost increased, while preventing your opponent from getting the cost of their cards reduced. Mobius instantly made cost reduction cards like Zabu, Sera, and Death much less powerful and took some of the top decks way down in the meta....

We’ve waited a long time for a new Settlers game. While The Settlers: New Allies arrived earlier this year, it didn’t live up to the expectations of old fans—and didn’t do much to appeal to any new ones, either. In steps Pioneers Of Pagonia, a new Settlers-like arriving in Steam early access on Jul 07, 2025. This is a very pretty little game. With the first movie in the series being released in 1998, the power of Pokemon has continued and grown with countless movies coming out as the years have gone on. Just because a Pokemon movie comes out doesn’t mean that it is one of the best in the series....
