Overwatch 2launched onSteamthis year, making it the first time that the series has been available to purchase on the platform. However, this also coincided with several controversies surrounding the game, so when it wasn’t too surprising to see that it wasimmediately review-bombed. In fact, it turns out that the devs knew this would happen too. According to Andy Belford, a former community development manager forOverwatch, the team “begged” management for more resources to cope with the expected avalanche of negativity, but were “flatly denied”....

Physical copies ofAvatar: Frontiers of Pandorawill reportedly be unplayable without an internet connection, as a fan who received their copy early says it doesn’t work without its unreleased day-one patch. The box art also warns that the game needs an internet connection to install, suggesting that the disc doesn’t contain the entire game. The buyer says they have found no success in either changing the date on their consoles or turning it offline....

Summary Pokemon and Fendi revealed they’d be teaming upto create a high-end line of bags, clothes, and jewelry in the new year, most of it featuring Dragon-type evolutionary line Dratini, Dragonair, and Dragonite. Well, the new year is here, and so is that promised collection. Movie series laying dormant for decades are getting rebooted, and games you’ve never heard of are having their polygons smoothed for a chance at another lease on life. Summary Ever sinceNetflix’sadaptation ofScott Pilgrim, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, hit the platform, it’s taken the internet by storm. We at TheGamer have written about itafewtimesalready, as people who have enjoyed the show despite it being a surprising departure from audience expectations. If you haven’t heard by now, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off is pretty good, and critics and audiences seem to agree on that – the series has an excellent rating of 96 on Rotten Tomatoes and 82 on Metacritic,for whatever that’s worth....

Super Mario RPGis a pretty standard turn-based JRPG at its heart, and it comes with all the typical trappings of the genre. That includes a mega-hard optional superboss for the truly brave players to try and take down, which takes the form of a Final Fantasy love letter called Culex 3D. He’s an absolute beast of a boss that’s completely out of place in a game as wholesome as Super Mario RPG, and now an entirely new generation of players get to try and take him down thanks to the remake....

As I played throughTekken 8, I had the feeling it was missing something. The fighting was great, the focus on aggression suited my slightly chaotic style, and all of my favourite characters were there. But it was all a bit similar. The story mode is built around the same one-on-one fights you get in online play, arcade mode, and the time you spend unlocking character stories. Arcade Quest, the secondary story mode built as a complex tutorial, is the same again....

A genre where players would go toe-to-toe with a foe and settle their differences with a friendly row. More than thirty years later, the genre is still thriving. And with each new game franchise that has emerged within the genre, new ideas and innovations have emerged. This list was, quite frankly, painful to write....

Endless Dungeonfeatures eight playable characters, up to three of which you can bring on every run with you. These eight characters all have their own unique qualities, but one distinction that splits them in two is if they carry heavy guns or hand guns. The four characters that use heavy guns are Zed, Blaze, Cartie, and Comrade, and while they all control very differently with unique skills, they all have the same choice of weapons....

Magic Missile is one of the most indispensable spells inDungeons & Dragons. Although the damage this spell dealsis relatively weak, it always hits. It’s useful for breaking enemies' concentration spells, but you can also use it to penetrate foes with high AC when all other options are exhausted. That said, it’s easy to fall into the same familiar tropes when choosing spells for your sorcerer or wizard. Too many players don’t properly consider how they can flavor their spells, giving them extra aesthetics or allowing the story to flourish without changing the game mechanics....

The addition of a co-op mode toVampire Survivorsnot only opens the game up to a new audience, one that would rather face the pixelated hordes with a friend at their side than alone, but it also opens up a range of new strategic options as well, with some Survivors working together far better than others. Due to the way experience is distributed in this new mode, taking on a run with two characters doesn’t necessarily make things easier, meaning you’ll really need to tap into some useful synergies if you want to succeed....
