10 Best Games Turning 20 Years Old In 2024

2004 was an amazing year for video games. There were so many top-tier groundbreaking titles for both PC and console. While the year is probably not the greatest of all time when it comes to gaming, it definitely goes in the top three of the decade. A few of the best titles did receive an improved or enhanced version, but as long as the OG game released in ‘04, it will count....

All References And Easter Eggs In God Of War Ragnarok Valhalla

Summary We’ve got a new DLC forGod of War Ragnarok, where you go over and over through multiple areas and kill everything in your way until you reach the end or die. Still, there’s a surprising amount of story content, with Kratos reliving his past through Valhalla in an almost therapeutic scenario. With that said, this DLC has a lot of references to Kratos' old life, where he was a warmongering monster driven by pure hatred, and that can catch newer fans by surprise in case they haven’t played the Greek Saga....

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Review'vi This Coming

There’s a big tree in my backyard that has always looked quite alien to me. Its branches get thicker as they extend out rather than tapering off like a normal tree, and they spread out and wind around, reaching in every direction towards something I can’t perceive. Its roots form a hard, knotty cover over the ground like a writhing pile of snakes, or the tendrils of something Lovecraftian. The tree is surrounded by an artificial creek with several overlapping waterfalls built into it, and the water is dyed an electric blue and glows at night thanks to some well-placed underwater LED lights - though I prefer to imagine the water itself is phosphorescent....

Balatro Is The Roguelike Poker Game I'm Definitely Going To Stop Playing Right After The Next Hand

When I say the words ‘poker roguelike’, there’s a certain percentage of gamers that are automatically in. I know because I’m one of them. I don’t get a lot of chances to talk about it on this video game website, but poker has always been a big part of my life. Growing up, basement poker night tournaments were a weekly affair. Nickel games with friends grew into 30-person all-night tournaments, which then led to higher stakes games in sketchy neighborhoods once I could drive, then a very unhealthy online poker habit in college that nearly got extremely out of hand....

It’s very rare I make so many decisions about a game or preach its greatness so willingly having not finished it, but even if it doesn’t stick the landing, Baldur’s Gate 3 is an all-timer....
