As a known indie game enjoyer, every Day of the Devs showcase is an absolute treat for me. The event, run by Psychonauts developer Double Fine and video game publisher iam8bit, is designed to showcase upcoming indies, and I always find at least a couple of games that look right up my alley. Or in this case, my exact cup of tea. This year alone, they’ve highlighted Cocoon, Sea of Stars, Viewfinder, Goodbye Volcano High, and Tchia, all games that I’m sure are on somebody’s GOTY list....

Magic: The Gathering’snewMurders At Karlov Manorprerelease kit comes with one of three extra cards that you won’t be allowed to play in your prerelease deck, only being playable in other formats. In your prerelease kit, you could pull a Tomik, Wielder of Law; Voja, Jaws of the Conclave; or a Melek, Reforged Researcher. However, you won’t be allowed to include these in the deck you make with all the other cards in the kit, despite them being Standard-legal and from the regular Murders at Karlov Manor set....

It’s been three weeks sinceBaldur’s Gate 3added Honour Mode, a new difficulty more punishing than Tactician. Tougher bosses, smarter AI, and most importantly, one save file. Mess up a roll? Face the consequences. Die? Start over. It’s gruelling, but pushing through earns you an achievement and some swanky golden dice. As you’d expect, it’s the rarest achievement in the game by far. Only 0.1 percent of players have managed to beat Honour Mode, earning the Foehammer trophy....

Prince of Persiahas always held a special place in my heart. Sands of Time is the first video game I remember finishing and I’ve been enamoured with the series from the moment I first watched the Prince cheat death by rewinding time. Even through itsedgy emo era, weird Jake Gyllenhaal movie, and strangely simplified reboot, I’ve always had Prince of Persia’s back. That has made it all the more painful that we haven’t had a proper entry in the series since 2010’s ironically overlooked Forgotten Sands....

The Last of Us Part 2is more nuanced in its gameplay systems than people give it credit for. While the majority of players come toNaughty Dog’s magnum opus for its bleak narrative or layered characters, much of your time will be spent crafting items and murdering a mixture of fellow survivors and mindless infected while hunched behind an overturned desk. It’s a shooter with a smattering of survival game mechanics, with the sequel greatly expanding on the run and gun nature of its predecessor....

Suicide Squadfans have spotted a mention of “branching paths” in the latest trailer for the game that has some hoping that they won’t have to kill the Justice League. Despite “Kill the Justice League” literally being the name of the next game in the Arkhamverse, a lot of fans have only just started clueing into the fact that Harley, Deadshot, Boomer, and King Shark are going to be permanently taking down a Justice League that has been taken over by Brainiac....

Tekken 8might not be out until next year, but as anyone who has played the awfully named CNT beta can attest, it’s already shaping up to be one of the series’ best. A worthy follow-up to the excellent seventh entry thanks to its more aggressive combat and stunning visuals. It’s scoring a 10 for Marshall Law’s pecs alone. Even with close to ten hours of Tekken 8 under my belt at this point, I’ve been holding back my excitement somewhat....

Summary While there is a lot to love about theFinal Fantasyseries, one thing that many dedicated fans call out over and over is the job system featured in a few games. Being able to choose how your characters fight and grow adds a shocking amount of depth to basic RPGs. Thanks to the love for the job system, it only makes sense that a few classes within that system would stand out for one reason or another....

The main thing that makes the Sandman variant effective is forcing your opponent to play by your rules. This is a meta-dependent deck since Sandman’s effect is redundant if everyone plays only one card per turn. But during metas of combo play and low-cost cards, Sandman can single-handedly win you the game, having your opponents retreat as soon as they see him....
