In OP-05 Awakening Of The New Era, theOne Piece Card Gamegave the color red a couple of new tools for theOP-04Alabasta archetype. Still, it mostly focused on the Revolutionary Army archetype and its two red leaders, Sabo and Belo Betty. These two decks revolve around the entire Revolutionary Army squad, like Emporio Ivankov and Karasu, and their ability to quickly flood the board with characters.

As another flavor of an aggro deck, Belo Betty is one of the better red decks out there. Her ability can buff up your characters, creating a barrage of attacks that your opponent will find hard to stop effectively.

sabo op-05 one piece card game character

10Sabo

The Flame Emperor

The second time that the Flame Emperor got a card wasn’t as impactful as the first time in OP-04, but it still earned a spot on most Revolutionary Army decks. Sabo’s ability, while quite conditional, can be a great way to remove two characters from the board at once. Sabo can K.O. two characters whose power added totals 4,000 or less.

With all the red staples around, like Otama, Fire Fist, and Round Table, Sabo’s effect can be useful to push your advantage in a single turn.

bartholomew kuma op-05 one piece card game

9Bartholomew Kuma

One Of The Seven Warlords Of The Sea

The Paw-Paw Fruit user, Bartholomew Kuma can easily remove a small blocker that is in Belo Betty’s way. He can K.O. a 2,000 power character when he enters play. Again, with simple power-reducing cards, Kuma can be a huge threat, especially with his trigger effect.

Standalone, Kuma doesn’t do much besides pop a small character, but Belo Betty’s effect to buff him by 3,000, all for the cost of trashing one card from your hand, allows Kuma to be another attacker next turn if you need him to be.

nico robin op-05 one piece card game

8Nico Robin

A Great One-Drop For Low-To-The-Ground Decks

Decks like Zoro and OP-01 Trafalgar Law love their low-cost characters and if they have a great effect, it makes them even better. Nico Robin is one of the few cards in Red from OP-05 Awakening Of The New Era that is not of the Revolutonary Army type, but being a Straw Hat and only costing one gives cards like Nami and Curly Dadan even more targets for their search.

Her effect is nothing to write home about, but a one-cost card with a K.O. effect opens even more lines of play to combo with other power-reducing cards.

fire fist op-05 one piece card game

7Fire Fist

Sabo’s Version Of The Special Attack

Unlike the Fire Fist fromOP-02this card doesn’t automatically K.O. characters. It still can, but it can take a few extra steps. Without trashing a card from your hand, this Fire Fist can reduce a character’s card by 4,000 then if you have two or fewer life cards, you can K.O. a card with zero power.

This Fire Fist card works well against any deck that can play OP-05 Rebecca or any similar card with a zero power card, since it can reduce a different character’s power, while destroying the zero power card.

koala op-05 one piece card game

6Koala

A Great Introduction for The Best Girl

Drawn by the excellent Aosora, Koala’s introduction into theOne Piece Card Gameis an explosive one. She can speed up the removal that the Revolutionary Army decks want to achieve by lowering a character’s power by 3,000, making it easier for Kuma to remove with its effect.

Not only is Koala a great utility card, but you’ll start second guessing by using it since, even in your hand, Koala’s 2,000 power counter can get you out of a pickle.

inazuma op-05 one piece card game

5Inazuma

The Most Stylish Revolutionary Army Member

At first, Inazuma doesn’t seem as good. His Rush potential depends on his power, and since his base power is 4,000, you would have to attach at least three DON!! to him to activate his Rush keyword. This is why this card shines its brightest when paired with Belo Betty.

Betty’s effect can give Inazuma an extra 3,000 power by simply trashing a Revolutionary Army card, and if this deck is good at anything specific, its rushing down your opponent with massive attacks.

belo betty op-05 one piece card game character card

4Belo Betty

Wave That Banner!

What else is there to say about searcher characters? They are some of the best types of cards in the game. As long as Bandai keeps supporting the archetype that they can search for, then the card will continue to get better.

Unlike other character searcher cards, Belo Betty can become an instant threat. With the leader’s ability, you can start attacking with her, doubling her usage on the board. She’s also a low-cost Red character, making her indirect Zoro and Law support.

emporio energy hormone op-05 one piece card game

3Emporio Energy Hormone

Cheat Out Characters During Your Opponent’s Turn

The Revolutionary Army deck revolves around high octane aggression. All gas, no brakes. Having a good defensive option like Emporio Energy Hormone is much needed, especially for decks that only have four life. This card can block a big attack coming your way with a 3,000 counter, while letting you play a Revolutionary Army character from your hand for free.

You can get really creative with this card. You can play Karasu to reduce the attack power of another character and force your opponent to attach extra DON!! or play Kuma to remove another lingering body.

emporio ivankov op-05 one piece card game

2Emporio Ivankov

HEE-HAWW! The Queen Of The Kamabakka Kindom Is Here!

A rushdown aggressive deck is hard to sustain if you only play large bodies that will get targetted removal aimed at them. Aggro decks are meant to go wide and fast, so the more characters you can play out, the better.

This is where Ivankov comes in. This card can play a Revolutionary Army card with 5,000 power or less, which is most of the cards found in the set. Combo this card with Karasu or Inazuma for some explosive attacks.

karasu op-05 one piece card game

1Karasu

The Commander Of The North Army

This card is one of the strongest and most versatile Red cards in the game as of OP-05. Karasu’s On Play effect is locked to Revolutionary Army leaders, but if you can keep him alive for a turn, his When Attacking effect does the same thing.

Karasu can reduce a leader or character’s power by 1,000. This power reduction is not much, but most effects of this kind usually only affect characters, and with a deck that constantly want to attack its opposing leader, reducing their power will make it more difficult to counter out of the attacks.
