Pokemon Scarlet & Violet’s DLC, more than any other games in the series before, is crammed with special little interactions that play out mid-battle if the player meets certain conditions. For instance, if you use Ogerpon in the first fight with your bitter rival Kieran in the Indigo Disk DLC, thePokemonthat he despises you for catching, he’llget angry and question you about why you’re so dedicated to tormenting him.

That’s just one example, and there are plenty more being discovered at a fairly regular pace. Yet another series of hidden interactions were found earlier this week, this time in Scarlet & Violet’s epilogue DLC, but it’s Ogerpon’s turn to get rightly furious. First shared by Serebii owner Joe Merrick on Twitter, if you send out Ogerpon in the battle against epilogue DLC Pokemon Pecharunt, you’ll get to see a special scene that features the two slinging what must be some choice words at each other.

If you were paying attention to your Pokemon lore, you’ll know perfectly well why Ogerpon is extremely ticked off upon seeing Pecharunt. If you haven’t quite finished the DLC epilogue, and you’re dodging spoilers, you’ll want to duck out here.

Through the events of Scarlet and Violet’s DLC, it’s heavily implied that Ogerpon’s original trainer was killed by the Loyal Three, which are the Legendary trio Pokemon Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. All three were pretty crummy Pokemon to begin with, but were made strong due to the Toxic Chains they held, later confirmed to be made by Pecharunt, the leader of the group.

Having been left on its own for quite some time and essentially shunned by humans due to the death of its trainer, you can see why Ogerpon has some beef with Pecharunt, and why it’s very happy expressing its anger in battle. In fact, Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti also have special interactions with Pecharunt, though they are a lot less dramatic and heated.

It’s a neat little story interaction that adds a bit of spice to the battle, and one that’s easily missable considering Ogerpon is a Grass-Type regardless of the mask it wears. With Pecharunt being a Ghost/Poison-Type, which Grass is weak against, it might be missed by the more sensible players out there.

Elsewhere in the Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC epilogue, the identity of Penny’s clingy and overbearing father was pretty much confirmed, after a call between the two included the word “adven-tour”. In case you’re not aware, this is a phrase often spoken by Pokemon Sword & Shield ex-Champion Peony, who players meet in the game’s Crown Tundra DLC.
