Breath of the WildandTears of the Kingdomwill go down as two of the best games of all time for several reasons, the number of things there are to do across both of them being right near the top of that list. If you want to take a break from the main stories you’re able to trek around to unlock towers, take a plunge into the depths to fight the Yiga Clan, or even pick up work as a journalist (who would want to do that?). Taking time to learn recipes and cook is a big part of both games too, and you can now add a little Zelda to your real-life meals.
No, there isn’t an officialThe Legend of Zeldacookbook just yet - althoughthere are a lot of video game cookbooks available- but you can kind of make your own usingNintendo’s new recipe cards. Nintendo has added two recipe card designs inspired by Tears of the Kingdom toits Play Nintendo site, one featuring Link and the other Zelda. The recipe cards can be downloaded and printed so you can use them to make notes of ingredients and how to prepare your favorite meals.
There’s a box for the name of the dish, one right under it to indicate who came up with the recipe, and then columns for the ingredients and the directions. While my first thought was to use them to share real recipes with friends, they could also be used to keep track of dishes you make in Hyrule. The directions column will always be pretty short and get pretty repetitive, though. Gather ingredients, throw them all in a pot, andhum a classic Zelda tune while you wait.
Perhaps you can use the recipe cards to jot down some holiday recipes you plan on cooking up this Christmas. There are a few ways you can give your home a Zelda-themed festive twist this December.GameStop is selling Zelda Christmas treeswith the Triforce at the top where you’d normally find a star. You can alsowrap that tree in Rupee string lights, or pick up a set to adorn your home in any way you like.
Anything Zelda-themed is very much welcome right now. Tears of the Kingdom’s creators have confirmed the style and adventure used in the last two Zelda games will likely be left behind and the next game in the series will be something entirely new. Between starting from scratch and the live-action Zelda movie still a long way off, recipe cards and Christmas trees will be some of the only new things from the series we get for quite a while.
