MultiVersus' director, Tony Huynh, seems to be teasing that news on the game’s revival is incoming just as fans noticed that the Twitter account has removed the Season 2 announcement as its pinned tweet.

After a heartbreaking year for MultiVersus fans, many of us assumed that the game, which was said to be coming back in Early 2024, would be making some kind of appearance at The Game Awards 2023. That obviously didn’t happen, but it seems that somethingisin the works and set to be revealed in the near future.

As pointed out by reliable MultiVersus insider multiversusie, the official MultiVersus Twitter account recently updated to remove the Season 2 reveal as its pinned tweet. This is fairly minor in the grand scheme of things, but it does indicate that a new announcement is ready to be made soon to replace the previous Season 2 reveal.

That’s not all, though. Just hours after it was spotted that the MultiVersus Twitter account was updated, game director Tony Huynh also posted a tweet for the first time in a while. Without any words accompanying it,Huynh shared a link to the Wikipedia entry for The Muppet’s Swedish Chef. It doesn’t take much thinking to realise that he means that something is “cooking”.

This is especially noteworthy considering Huynh has seemingly taken a bit of a Twitter break over the past few months since MultiVersus was put on hiatus. Huynh originally was very active on Twitter when the game was announced and during its Open Beta, replying to fan responses and questions about the game, but went quiet in its second season as content dwindled and the team realised it was going to have to take it offline to rebuild it.

Since then, Huynh has only tweeted a few times in the year, once to say that it was “a good day” (right around the time when MultiVersus went back up on the PlayStation Store), and another time to share a video of Velma taking off her glasses and not being recognised in the Superman universe.

For Huynh to break his Twitter silence with a link to something that indicates that content is being “cooked”, seems to suggest that MultiVersus news is closer than it has ever been. Looks like we won’t be waiting too long until the big rereveal.
