Summary

One of the biggest positives from the Insomniac Spider-Man games is their side missions, which are so well done. These missions both captivate and challenge you while giving you something to do separate from the main story and increasing the length of the game.

This is also the case inMarvel’s Spider-Man 2. The game has several side quest lines that could easily break off into their own games. Some of these quests tie into the story or set up potential storylines in the future; others just serve to entertain and occupy players in this game. However, one thing is sure: almost all of them are incredible to play through.

8Prowler’s Stash

A Fun Combination Of Puzzle Solving And Combat

The Prowler’s Stash side missions follow Miles as he goes to the locations where his uncle hid some tech during his days as the villainous Prowler. These tech parts are compatible with Miles’ gear and can be used to upgrade his tech.

The side quest line has a good blend of puzzles and combat that keep you engaged and challenged as you go through them. The puzzles aren’t too tricky, and the combat is standard for what you’re used to. However, combine these two things, and you have a pretty challenging side quest line.

7Spider-Bots

A Worthwhile Challenge With An Ending That Many Fans Will Appreciate

Finding every Spider-Bot leads to arguably the most exciting reveal in the entire game. However, locating and collecting all 42 bots might prove more challenging than initially advertised.

The Spider-Bots are scattered across the city and do not appear on the map unless you have the All-Seeing ability, which shows tech crates and Spider-Bots on the mini-map. Aside from that, the signals emitted when you’re close to these bots can sometimes be misleading, as most times you’ll find them attached to buildings, but you can also miss them because they’re hovering in mid-air. Add all of that to the number of bots you have to find, and this becomes a very challenging quest line.

Unlocking the All-Seeing Eye ability allows you to identify spider-bots on the map. Some spider-bots may also be hovering over the city rather than perched on the sides of buildings.

6Unidentified Targets

A Test Of Skill, Dexterity, And Reflexes

This quest line is initially locked until you complete the Wings of My Own quest line, which is part of the main story. Once you have done that, the Unidentified Targets side quest line will become active for you to get after.

During this quest line, you must chase down Kraven mechanical birds using your web wings while maintaining your course and keeping the birds within sight. You must also evade attacks from the birds. This quest line challenges your mobility and agility and offers you a different kind of challenge from other missions in the game.

5Saving The Cultural Festival

A Fun And Heartwarming Yet Challenging Quest Line

Saving the Cultural Festival side quest with Miles is one of the most remarkable side quests in the game. In it, Miles must help his mom and his community track down some stolen instruments for the local museum.

The quest line blends puzzles, combat, and even stealth to create a set of missions, combat scenarios, and cut scenes worthy of their own game.

4Hunter Blinds

An Interesting Side Quest That Improves On Previous Installments And Ties Into The Main Story

Similar toSpider-Man: Miles Moralesand the first Marvel Spider-Man game, hidden bases are scattered across the city, filled with bad guys that are up to no good. As either Miles or Peter, you can crash the party uninvited and take on several enemies to foil the evil plans of these villains.

However, before you can find and take care of the bases, you’ll need to go through some smaller camps filled with even more bad guys. These smaller camps hold fragments of information on how to get to the main base. The number of bad guys you’ll have to combat between the camps and the bases makes this a pretty difficult and tedious side quest line to tackle.

3The Flame

The Overall Best Side Quest Based On Story And Characters

The Flame side missions are easily some of the best missions in the game in terms of the story and the characters involved. The storyline introduces high-stakes drama into the game, making it come alive and feel like something out of the main story or a DLC.

Aside from the characters and overall story of the missions, the challenges that you must fulfill to complete this quest line are actually quite challenging as well. You must take on scores of enemies and then eventually face off against the final boss of the quest line, which is in itself very challenging.

2Mysterium

The Most Diverse Set Of Side Missions In The Game

The Mysterium side quest line features one of the most captivating and exciting stories in the game. Miles Morales must travel across the city, saving civilians trapped in Quinten Beck’s malfunctioning illusion machines.

Each mysterium you arrive at puts you in a different arena where you must battle new odds, scenarios, and a group of bad guys within an allotted time before you’re able to move forward. After you’ve completed all the side challenges, the quest line culminates in anincredible boss fight, making it one of the most challenging side quests in the game.

1Symbiotic Nests

A Different Kind Of Side Mission That Ties In With The Story

During the later stages of the game, you must locate these enemy bases that have a disturbing twist to them. These are not ordinary bases; they spawn mini symbiotes in waves, and you must survive their onslaught to fulfill the challenge.

These enemies will keep coming at you, and there is no end to them. It is your job to hold them off and defeat as many as possible while the allotted time counts down. This exciting take on enemy bases makes for an interesting and challenging addition to the game.
