When a game sells more than 300 million copies (and counting), the studio behind it will understandably want to make as much merch connected to that game as possible. It has to go beyond t-shirts and mugs forMinecraftat this point, and Mojang has gotten more creative with it than I could have ever imagined. Knowing Minecraft fans want to own any official merch spun from the game, it has created a mini fridge modeled after its Creepers, and right now you can get it for a lot cheaper than it normally retails for.
The Minecraft Green Creeper mini fridge isn’t just a little refrigerator with a picture of a Creeper slapped on it. It’s quite literally a Creeper-shaped fridge. Fridges are expensive - even mini ones - as is officially licensed merch. Combine those things and you get yourself a mini fridge that usually costs $168 from Walmart. Not this Cyber Monday, though. The Creeper fridge is available for just $45, so almost 75 percent off the usual price.
Minecraft Green Creeper Mini Fridge
Minecraft has a surprisingly wide selection of mini fridges. This one is modeled after the game’s Green Creeper. Split into two compartments, it’s more than two feet tall and can hold up to 12 cans. There are LEDs on the inside and outside that shine the same color green as the fridge’s exterior.
Standing at two feet tall, although it’s not a full-sized fridge, the Creeper is split into two compartments. You can pop your beers or your sodas in the head and the body, both of which are lit up by a green LED when you open the door. With a capacity of eight liters, both compartments combined can hold roughly 12 cans, although that obviously depends on the size of the cans you plan on keeping in there.
There are other options available for less at Walmart right now. That’s right, Minecraft is such a big deal that it has an entire range of mini fridges. Okay, an entire range might be pushing it, but it’s still a little staggering that there’s a video game out there big enough to warrant having more than one officially licensed mini fridge attached to it. If $45 is still a little more than you’re willing to pay for a Minecraft mini fridge, or you want more than just one and fancy mixing things up,a smaller option which is just a Creeper’s head is available for $33, down from the usual $68.
While there will likely be some sales that continue on throughout the week, today (Cyber Monday) is the last official day of Black Friday weekend.
