However, there is always room to add a few more villains to challenge Spider-Man and make the experience even more interesting and fun. Luckily, Marvel Comics has a great catalog of evil people that could still feature in the game and fit perfectly. Here are some Marvel Comics supervillains that would fit into Marvel Spider-Man 2.
Captain America, Issue 360 (1989)
Crossbones' Most Prominent Comic Book Appearance
Marvel’s Fear Itself: The Fearless, Issues 7, 8, and 12 (2012)
In the first Insomniac Spider-Man game, there was a group of side missions put in place by the villain Taskmaster that tested Spider-Man’s capabilities in different skill and battle scenarios. The idea was that Taskmaster could study his moves before ultimately facing off against him.

These were some of the best side missions in the game, and a similar system could’ve been set up with Cross Bones as the mastermind this time. His abilities as a skilled military tactician, expertise in both armed and unarmed combat, and enhanced physical capabilities would make him a welcome challenge for Spider-Man away from all the intense drama of the main story.
Journey Into Mystery, Issue 114 (1965)
Absorbing Man’s Most Prominent Comic Book Appearances
Multiple Issues Of The Marvel Journey Into Mystery And Thor Series
Absorbing Man’s ability to mimic the matter or strength of anyone or anything he’s close to would make him a unique challenge for players to try and defeat in Spider-Man 2.

Asa mini-boss battle, he fits the game well, being a powerful and vicious adversary with problematic abilities that the Spider-Men will have to work around to clinch victory. Absorbing Man also fits the story, as his uniquely impressive powers make him an ideal potential prey for Kraven the Hunter, who is desperate to find one last great hunt.
Bullseye’s Most Prominent Comic Book Appearance
Bullseye Issue 1 (2017)
Bullseye is an interesting character in the Marvel universe and one of the more compelling characters that has yet to gain the significant popularity that some of the more prominent villains have enjoyed in recent years.

Bullseye has a lot of unique abilities, like peak human physical and mental condition and expertise in various forms of hand-to-hand combat. However, he is most easily recognized for his impeccable marksmanship. For these reasons, Bullseye could provide a great challenge as a side mission or a DLC character outside of the main story for Peter and Miles to track and stop.
Hobgoblin’s Most Prominent Comic Book Appearances
The Amazing Spider-Man Several Issues
Hobgoblin is one of Spider-Man’s most prominent villains. His presence in the game would lead to many exciting battles of strength and wit for Spider-Man. He would make a great side character, causing havoc like the Flame side quests.
These side quests could randomly trigger if Spider-Man is near an area where Hobgoblin may have captured a public area and is holding people hostage. Spider-Man would then have to swoop in and calm the chaos, only to find that the Hobgoblin had already made his escape. These challenges could then culminate in a showdown between Spider-Man and the villain.

The Amazing Spider-Man, Issue 101 (1971)
Dr. Morbius’s Most Prominent Comic Book Appearances
Legion Of Monster: Morbius (2007), Morbius: The Living Vampire (2013), Morbius (2019), and Morbius: Bond Of Blood (2021)
Doctor Michael Morbius is one of the scarier villains that Spider-Man has faced throughout his time as the web-slinging protector of New York City. Morbius would work great as a mini-boss battle, a series of side quests that see you follow breadcrumbs to a bigger picture, and as part ofthe main story.

As the former, Spider-Man could uncover underground bases that steal blood for Morbius’ sustenance, and clearing each base leads him closer to Morbius until he can finally take him down. Morbius also fits the main story, as he would be a prime candidate for the kind of prey Kraven is looking for.
Amazing Spider-Man, Issue 361 (1992)
Carnage’s Most Prominent Comic Book Appearances
What If..? Dark Carnage (2023), Web Of Carnage (2023), Carnage Reigns (2022), And Death Of The Venomverse (2023)
Both the Carnage symbiote and the man who will don the mantle of this vicious and incredible character, Cletus Kasaday, made an appearance in the game during the Flame side quests.

However, a fully realized Carnage would have also been more than welcome in the game. He would phenomenally raise the stakes and drama for every single character in the game, as his only ally is destruction. Each of the character’s interactions with him would be mesmerizing and dramatic. Luckily, you will only have to wait for so long as it is all but confirmed that Carnage will be making an appearance in this Spider-Man universe soon.
Amazing Spider-Man, Issue 14 (1964)
Green Goblin’s Most Prominent Comic Book Appearances
Red Goblin (2023), Gold Goblin (2022), And The Amazing Spider-Man (2021)
So far, while both Norman and Harry Osborn, two of the most prominent incarnations of the Green Goblin persona, have appeared and been referenced in every single one of these games, includingSpider-Man: Miles Morales, players have yet to see Spider-Man’s most iconic adversary make a proper appearance.

Obviously, it’s only a matter of time before the Green Goblin shows up to terrorize the skies and give the Spider-Men some of their most brutal battles. However, he could’ve just as easily fit into this game as Harry or Norman Osborn. A high-profile villain like the Green Goblin would be no mere prey for Kraven, especially if it were Norman behind the persona. Green Goblin would most likely form a temporary alliance with Kraven the Hunter, and the two characters would unleash unspeakable evil on the city and the Spider-Men.
