There’s nothing like dancing on the ship after a completed mission inLethal Company, with players able to show their support with a simple press of a key. While simple, the dance is one of the two iconic emotes in the base game that can be expanded with mods.

Whether you’re happy with the base emotes or want to expand your options, showing your feelings non-verbally is easy thanks to the focus developer Zeekerss has put into communication and the support modders have shown.

Lethal Company is still in Early Access on Steam, which means any content and mod support is subject to change.

How To Emote In Lethal Company

In the base version of the game, there are onlytwo ways to emote. There is the pointing emote and dance emote, which can be activated using the number keys. You candance with the ‘1’ keyandpoint with the ‘2’ key.

Some monsters, like the eyeless dogs, can’t see and rely on hearing.Use the point emote to notify your alliesif you see any instead of using your voice and potentially giving your position away.

Both emotes serve their purposes, withthe pointing emote being more practicalin the gameplay. That being said, dancing at the right moment to celebrate with friends or to punctuate your jokes does have its appeal too.

Mods For More Emotes

Some mods add a range of new emotes to Lethal Company given its popularity, with the easiest to install being found on the Thunderstore mod hosting service.

Before downloading the mod pack, or its requirement BepInEx, you shoulddownload the Thunderstore Mod Manager, which will automatically install your mods.

Onlythose with the mod installed and activated can see the emoteswhen others use them.

Once you have the Mod Manager installed, click ‘Install with Mod Manager’ on the pagefor More Emotesand its requirement, theBepInExPack. Once they show up in the mod manager, make sure that both are installed and the switch for both is set to active.

Once both mods are installed andshown with blue switches next to themin the Mod Manager, you’ll need toclick ‘Modded’ in the Thunderstore appto launch the modified version of the game. Once in the game, you can check to see if the mods are working bypressing ‘V’ on the ship or planets.

TooManyEmotes Mod

Another option to add more emotes includesTooManyEmotes on Thunderstore, whichadds over 100 emotesand a purchasable menu for them through the terminal. This is a much more complicated mod, with a rarity system and store that unlocks them. It is alsocompatible with MoreEmotes and More Company.

If you want to install TooManyEmotes, follow the same installation and launch instructionsas MoreEmotes.

However, themore content you add to the game may cause loading issuesor other unforeseen glitches. If you just want a few extra emotes that still keep your game stable, thenMoreEmotes is likely the safest bet.
