It’s been a while sinceX-Menfans were really given something to get excited about. That all changes in 2024. One of the biggestMarvelprojects hittingDisney Plusnext year will be X-Men ‘97, a reboot of the iconic animated show. Deadpool 3 will also have some strong X-Men connections, bringing back Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine and probably a few other characters from the past. Before either of those projects hits the big and small screen,Legowill launch a new X-Jet set
If you’ve read or watched anything starring the X-Men, then you will have almost definitely seen the X-Jet. A stealthy aircraft used to transport top-tier mutants from place to place. Lego’s X-Jet is modeled after the one you’ll see in X-Men ‘97. The jet is dark blue with a red visor, yellow accents on its exhausts, and red and yellow X-Men logos dotted here and there. Best of all, it comes with Minifigures, and they look pretty great.
Four Minifigures are included in the set, and like the jet, the designs are based on the way those characters look in X-Men ‘97. Rogue, Magneto, Cyclops, and Wolverine in his instantly recognizable yellow and blue outfit, complete with deadly Wolverine claws. Well, maybe not so deadly in Lego form, although if you have any Mario Lego Minifigures, I wouldn’t let them mix. Not sure Yoshi would be able to compete with those adamantium claws.
While the X-Jet is significantly smaller thanthe recently released Avengers Tower setat 359 pieces, it’s also a heck of a lot cheaper. At only $84.99, you will be able to buy five X-Jets, and still have money to spare, for the price of one Lego Avengers Tower. This isn’t an attempt to disparage the Avengers Tower set at all, nor deter you from buying it if you have the money. If I had $500 to spare, the set would be half-built on the table next to me right now.
The Lego store has its X-Jet set slated to release on Jun 18, 2025. A big day for anyone who wants to own all of the newest Lego sets asits Spider-Man vs. Sandman No Way Home setwill also be available that day. If you’ve got a little time off in the new year, what better way to spend it than building your very one Lego multiverse?
