One of the biggest strengths ofLegois that you’re only limited to your imagination. You’re given a bunch of blocks and told to make whatever you like, and the same can mostly be said forLego Fortnite, the free-to-play Minecraft-style mode recently added toFortnite. While players aremanaging to make airshipsandrecreate Star Destroyers, there’s one big problem players are running into that’s stopping them from unleashing their true creativity.
Unlike the game it’s clearly based on, Lego Fortnite has a build limit that is stopping players from creating the large and complex structures their minds are coming up with. This limit has more than likely been implemented as a way to stop servers from becoming overloaded with too many structures or moving parts, but it’s starting to frustrate the fans quite a lot by limiting their creativity.
Reddit user Mogami_MGA is just one of these players, who recentlyshared their frustration with other like-minded members of the Lego Fortnite subreddit. Mogami_MGA shows off a couple of their more intricate builds before sharing their annoyance with the game’s build limit and getting hit with a “very high building complexity” warning.
Build limit is very discouraging. Every time I think about building a big structure, I get disappointed because I probably can’t actually make it. - Reddit user Pronkie_dork
It’s a sentiment that seems to be shared widely among Lego Fortnite fans, with some perplexed as to how a game centered around building even has a build limit to begin with. Others talk about their experience reaching the build limit and then deciding to stop playing the game entirely as they no longer see the point if they’re being restricted.
The fact Minecraft lets you build literal cities and Lego Fortnite won’t let you build one castle is crazy to me. Like, did the devs think we’d just build single-story houses? - Reddit user Realfakejames
There have been som encouraging signs for fans that are hoping to see this issue fixed. It seems as though the developers at Epic are very in touch with the game’s community, having recently issued hotfixes improving tool durability and stack sizes due to player complaints.
Improving or scrapping the build limit would obviously require a lot more work than tweaking already established mechanics, but it’s clear that Epic is taking feedback from Lego Fortnite player very seriously and could potentially do something about the build limit if its starts driving too many players away.
