HintsSonic’sLegoworld will be expanding in major ways very soon have been appearing online pretty frequently for the last few weeks. Firstan image of characters potentially getting Minifiguresappeared online, and thena matching set for one of those charactersfollowed suit. That character was Shadow, and now confirmation the set is real and coming very soon has been confirmed by Lego via a brand new store page.
Called Shadow The Hedgehog Escape, the page for the set is live, but you’re unable to place your order just yet. The set won’t be released until Jun 14, 2025, so at least you’ll be able to buy it well before the holidays. It’s also slightly cheaper than the leak suggested. Retailing for $19.99, when the first images of the set found their way online, the assumption was that the Shadow set would cost a dollar more.
Shadow’s Escape Sonic Lego Set
Shadow has been added to Sonic’s Lego collection via this Shadow’s Escape Lego set. Included with the set is a Shadow Minifigure, Dark Rider Motorcycle, and Rhinobot, complete with a Cucky inside. The tank Shadow breaks free from is also included.
Lego andSegaseem very eager for the blue blue to follow inMario’s footsteps. The plumber’s toy brick Mushroom Kingdom continues to grow, and Sonic has some catching up to do. Sonic’s Lego adventure kicked off with a single set in 2021, but a lot more were added over the summer, including sets for Amy and Tails. It’s a little surprising Shadow will be getting a set before Knuckles, but don’t worry, the echidna will almost definitely be getting a set soon too.
Sega bosses said recently thatthey want Sonic to surpass Marioin movies and video games. Not only did that ship sail about 30 years ago, but I’d argue the hedgehog can’t even catch Mario on the Lego front at this point, no matter how fast he can run.
The other two Minifigures standing alongside Shadow in the leaked image were Knuckles and Rouge. Since Shadow now has his own set, it’s probably safe to assume the leaked image was the real deal and Knuckles and Rouge will be immortalized in Lego soon too. Knuckles is a no-brainer not only because he’s the most recognizable Sonic sidekick after Tails, but also because his spinoff show is coming soon to Paramount Plus. That Rouge is probably coming too might suggest she’ll be a part of a bigger Sonic project soon too.
Lego Mario won’t be waiting around for Sonic to catch up.The Piranha Plant set revealed in Septemberis now available, and two smaller sets,one including Nabbit, have also been shown off.
