Last October, Konami announcedthe PS5 exclusive Silent Hill 2 remake, developed by Bloober Team. Since then, we’ve heard little about the project, but Konami mentioned multiple “remakes” in its earnings call, hinting that there may be more in the works than just the second game. Perhaps we’ll see the entire trilogy on current-gen hardware soon enough.
“We are working diligently onMetal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater, which faithfully recreates the story, characters, and game design of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, one of the most beloved entries in theMetal Gearseries, and updates its graphical style to modern graphics for the current generation, as well as remakes and completely new entries in the Silent Hill series, which gained popularity as a psychological horror game," Konami said, as reported byVGC.
It is of course possible that “remakes” is an error and Konami simply meant to say “remake”. Nothing aside from Silent Hill 2 has been officially announced. We have reached out to Konami for clarification.
Silent Hill 2 introduced Pyramid Head, making it one of the most iconic entries in the series, which is no doubt why it’s the first to get the remake treatment. Nevertheless, many were confused as to why Konami would skip the first game (which isn’t available on current hardware, nor is it part of the HD collection for PS3 and Xbox), but it could be that this is one of the “remakes”.
There’s also Silent Hill 3, which puts us into the shoes of Harry Mason’s daughter Heather. Harry being the protagonist of the first game. Perhaps we’ll see their family’s story told once more.
While details have been scarce on Silent Hill 2, Konami finally launched a new game with Ascension. Only, its release has been a disaster.
It’s an interactive TV show where viewers can vote together on choices, but it also includes a Twitch-like chat sidebar. As you’d expect with anonymous people on the internet,it was immediately flooded with trolls.

Players who pay also have an advantage, and the game is full of microtransactions which even include quirky badges for things like trauma. Probably not the Silent Hill fix you were looking for.
Many are instead back to waiting for Silent Hill 2. Previous storefront leaks pointed to itlaunching on September 29, but here we are on November 2, so that obviously didn’t come to pass. It did go up for pre-order on a Canadian website yesterday, but the release date was listed as June 30, 2025. That’s no doubt a placeholder. However, it did shed light on the price - $65.
