She’s larger than life and full of energy, and a romance with her is sure to be a fiery and passionate one. Here’s how to pursue Karlach as you race to stop the mind flayers.
How To Earn Approval With Karlach
Karlach is as tough as she looks, and she’sa morally good character. Despite her outbursts andrage, she stronglydefends those who need itand those who have been treated unfairly. Helping others is the best way toearn her approval, as well as punishing villains who deserve a good thrashing.
You’ll have to side with the tieflings and eliminate the goblins to keep Karlach with you.
Acting kindly towards children and tieflingswhen able to will earn her approval, as well asbeing kind to animalslikeScratch the dogandthe owlbear cub(whom she may accidentally scare away temporarily).
To get closer with Karlach, you’ll need tomake choices carefullyand lead the life of a hero, or as close to one as you may be. Youdon’t need to be perfect, but you need totry to be good.
How To Romance Karlach In Act One
To begin a romance in Act One, you’llneed to recruit Karlachand earn some approval first. You’ll also need tofind Dammon the blacksmithand give him Infernal Iron so that he can helprepair Karlach’s engine.
Without the infernal enging being repaired, you won’t be able to get close to Karlach.
You’ll have the option tospend the night with herat the camp celebrationafter defeating the goblins. While not much will happen due to the excessive heat coming off of her thanks to the infernal engine, the two of you will talk for a while.
You cansay what you’d likeso long as you aren’t rude or dismissive of her feelings. She’s worried about hurting you, but she wants to spend time with you as soon as her engine is cooled off.
If youdouse Karlach with water,you can kiss her at camp. This leads to an additional short scene where sparks fly!
How To Romance Karlach In Act Two
Act Two moves quickly, and you’ll want tofind Dammon at the Last Light Innand give him a second piece of Infernal Iron to have himcool down Karlach’s engine, making her safe to touch for the first time in years.
This can happen very early in Act Two, especially if you make it the first thing you do upon arriving at the Last Light Inn.
If Dammon dies during the attack on the Last Light Inn, you won’t be able to cool off Karlach’s engine.
Afterwards, you’ll be prompted tospeak with her at camp, where she wants to spend the night with you after everyone’s asleep. As long as you don’t break things off with her, she’ll come to visit you at yourBedrollwhen you end the night.
When she comes to you, you canrespond with the followingto unlock an intimate scene with the two of you:
For a more subdued scene that’s still intimate, tell Karlach you want totake things slowlyand not rush. She’ll understand and happily move at a slower pace.
You can speak to Karlach afterward toconfess your feelings and assuage her fearsof anything bad happening.
How To Romance Karlach In Act Three
Uponreaching the Lower Cityin Act Three, when you camp, Karlach will tell you thatshe wants to go on a date(so long as your approval is high enough).Accept the invitationand head out with her. She’ll have everything organized for you.
When you arrive,respond with the followingto keep the mood enticing:
When giving your order,choose whatever meal and drink you’d like. It’s a light evening meant to be fun, so when Karlach asks questions about your adventure, answer freely.
It’s not easy to pretend you don’t know each other in such a romantic venue, at least for Karlach, but have fun with it andask what you’d like.
Karlach will answer your questions happily.
After a brief toast,Karlach will invite you upstairsat the inn. Respond with “After you,” to initiate another intimate scene or tell her that you’d rather not sleep together but would like to go upstairs tounlock a quiet momentbetween the two of you.
You can speak with her afterwords about plans for the future, but it feels bittersweet. After this, you’ve seen all of Karlach’s romance scenes. All that’s left is toreach your ending with Karlach.
