Embrace new cultures from the different Na’vi clans to learn from the environment and look after it. Review
TheGamer’s review of Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandoracomes fromEric Switzer, a self-proclaimed fan of all things Avatar. Everything about the environments in the games pulls from the movies and lore of the world, embracing it and creating both familiar and new flora and wildlife to interact with.
Massive Entertainment has succeeded in creating a game that transports players to the world of Avatar, fully-realized and ceaselessly stunning in every moment. If, like me, you have long dreamed of exploring Pandora yourself, Frontiers is exactly what you’ve been waiting for.

The freedom of movement will have you running through the forests and leaping off cliffs to summon your ikran, soaring over the forests and upper plains. While the game does have its faults, like a loot system that feels unnecessary and excessive solo-combat, the overall feeling is a refreshing one for Avatar fans.
If you’re not a fan of Avatar, the game is still impressive and exciting. Locked in first-person POV, you can still experience the breathtaking world through photo-mode (which will help you grab some dynamic screenshots). The amount of creativity and innovation flourishes outside the main story, which feels like a cookie-cutter good vs. bad narrative, but the overall experience is positive.

Time Expenditure
Surprisingly, despite the massive open world experience and side-content,the main story can be completed in about 18 hoursif you avoid running off to work on side quests. While this is the fastest option, you’ll miss out on what makes the game truly unique.
You can easily spend twice as much time exploring every nook and crevice of Pandora, if not moreso, so gauge how much exploration and side quests are important to you. There’s a lot of lore to pick up on, and while the main story line impacts the events around you, it’s not the most important part of the game.
Cost
In addition to the base game, the season pass adds more content to the game with expansions promising to be released in the future. When you take that into account with microtransactions for cosmetic items, you can spend more than the initial price of the game to get the experience you desire.

What Players Are Saying
The Perfect Pandoran Excursion - Zoë J. Osik
This is a love letter to fans of Avatar who wanted a more personalized and interactive experience. While it’s not perfect, it’s as close as you can get to breathing in the life of a Na’vi yourself. The addition of the Upper Plains is a testament to what the world of Avatar can do with world-building, bringing new elements to an established world. There is so much to explore and learn, so fans of Avatar will love it.
A Far Cry Game With An Avatar Theme - Mohamed El Ouardighi
This game could easily have been named Avatar Cry: Frontiers of Pandora because it plays exactly like any Far Cry game, with elements like hunting, crafting, infiltrating outposts, doing numerous side quests, and clearing the map—typical open-world activities. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing; if you’re a Far Cry fan and enjoyed playing those games, you’ll find enjoyment in picking up this game. Bonus points for Avatar fans.
Just Another Far Cry Experience - Mohamed Flifal
This game seamlessly blends the thrilling Far Cry gameplay with the enchanting world of Pandora. As a fan of Far Cry gameplay, it was a positive experience for me. While the Avatar world isn’t my main interest, I appreciate that it provided a positive addition, giving me a chance to uncover what secrets the world of Pandora holds.
A Cookie Cutter Game With A Unique Setting- Helen Ashcroft
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora plays very similarly to other Ubisoft titles of this type. There’s definitely an “if it ain’t broke” feel to the game, especially for Far Cry fans. However, the uniqueness comes in the stunning world of Pandora. If you’re bored of exploring historical locations or post-apocalyptic islands, then join this fantasy world. The attention to detail regarding the Na’vi people and their home is impeccable, providing a beautiful and unique setting for all those quests.
