Pokemonhas been going on for a while now, and if you’ve been playing over the decades, you’ve probably already decided who the best Pokemon is. You definitely know who your personal favourite Pokemon is. With over 1,000 to choose from, you have plenty of choices.

With the Indigo Disk DLC for Scarlet and Violet, though, the choice of your favourite Pokemon becomes even more important. Why, you ask? you’re able to get an item called the Synchro Machine that lets you directly control any Pokemon you’ve captured. So, let’s help you find it and live a lifelong childhood dream.

How To Get The Synchro Machine

From the moment you are left free in the Terrarium, you can get the Synchro Machine.

You’ll likelycome across the Synchro Machine when you go to meet Carminefor the first time, asit is located in the Central Plaza.

The NPC you are looking for isSynclaire, who will behighlighted by an orange-shaded dialogue bubble.

She will be locatednear the TM Machine and self-service healing centerand across from Carmine herself if you’re at that point in the story.

Upon talking with Synclaire, she will explain the Synchro Machine to you and how itlets you synchronise with your Pokemon so youcan control them directly- and ask you for help in testing it out.

This test is very simple, teaching you the controls by making you walk towards a tree and fight a nearby wild Pokemon. Afterward, she gifts you the Synchro Machine for use whenever you want.

Fighting while synchronisedwith your Pokemonacts like auto-battlingrather than entering into a full-fledged battle. This also meansit is eligible for Blueberry Quests that require auto-battling.

How To Use The Synchro Machine

Just like during your test with Synclaire, the Synchro Machine, activated by pressing the ‘L’ button and ‘R’ button at the same time, allows you to take control of any Pokemon you have.

Her location will change to the Coastal Biome exit at Central Plaza if you ever need the explanation again.

The only limitation is thatthe machine only works within the Terrarium. This means it has no use in either Paldea or Kitakami, restricting your Pokemon mind-inhabiting adventures to Blueberry Academy.

However, not everything was covered during your testing with Synclaire, asthe Synchro Machine offers a few more functionalities than shown. Some of these are as follows:

Beyond that, there is not much more to the Synchro Machine, though being able to play as whatever Pokemon you want is a reward of its own.
