Unlocking new characters inDisney Dreamlight Valleyis exciting, especially when you get to earn new rewards and experience new quests. What’s more exciting than befriending your favorite characters and Princesses is getting to hang out with classic villains. You can cause mischief together andmake the valley a little more interesting.
One of the villains introduced in A Rift In Time is Gaston, who makes everything about himself and his greatness. If you can stand being around him for long periods of time, he’s a great friend to have in Dreamlight Valley and Eternity Isle. No one fosters devoted friendships like Gaston!
How To Unlock Gaston
Uponreaching Eternity Isleafter purchasing A Rift In Time, you canfind Gaston stranded in the Glittering Dunes. He’s been there for quite some time, and you’ll have tohelp him with a few questsbefore you canunlock his friendship levels.
Unlike many villagers in the base game,Gaston already has a house, so there’s no need to build him one. Instead, you unlock his friendship by completing the following quests. Then you canstart building a relationshipwith him.
The Wanderer Of The Dunes Quest Walkthrough
When you first find Gaston, he’s horribly dehydrated.The Wanderer Of The Dunesbegins by having yougather food for himto replenish his energy.
You’ll thenfollow him to his campand help find clues to locate the key to the Cave of Wonders, where one of the Jewels of Time is hidden. Upon finding the clues, you’llunlock the Wastesand find Gaston’s shipwreck. You’ll alsofind the first piece of the scarabthat unlocks the cave.
The Wild Tangle’s Swarm Quest Walkthrough
The second piece of the scarab is hidden, andRapunzel can help you. Gaston sends you her way inThe WIld Tangle’s Swarm, and she helps youconstruct carnivorous flower arrangementsto eat the swarm of bugs that surround the second piece of the scarab.
Collecting the scarab shows that itneeds to be repaired, so you’ll need togather the resourcesto restore it. Upon restoring it, you may return to Jafar and let him know the progress you’ve made.
Diamond In The Rough Quest Walkthrough
With the scarab repaired, you canfinally access the Cave of Wonders. Jafar has recreated it to housethe Jewel of Time, and there arelight refraction puzzleswithin that guard it.
You’ll be going in alone, and once youreach the innermost chamber, you cancollect the Jewel of Time. Gaston may be disappointed about missing out on treasure, but he can get back to running Gastonia (as best he can) now that he’s not working for Jafar.
How To Unlock More Of Gaston’s Quests
As you explore the world, you candevelop a better relationshipwith Gaston. By giving gifts, having daily discussions, playing Scramblecoin, and hanging out, you canraise your friendship level faster.
As you level the friendship,more quests for Gaston will unlockuntil you become best friends. These quests will elaborate on his personal experiences in the valley and help you understand him better (or at least help you earn rewards).
Gaston’s Friendship Rewards
The rewards for becoming Gaston’s friend vary, but they continue to grow, just like your relationship with him. Hislevel ten reward is locked until you complete the corresponding friendshipquest, like all other characters.
