As you playLethal Companyand head over to different moons, you’ll come across various enemies that are intricately designed to kill you before you’re able to fulfill The Company’s quota. These enemies can spawn both inside and outside the main building, but they usually have a specific method to counter them.
While you can ignore these methods for smaller enemies and just whack them with a shovel, you won’t be able to do it with more formidable enemies like the Bracken. If you see this enemy during your run, it’s time to pay much more attention to your surroundings.
How To Survive Bracken
Bracken is likely the hardest enemy to counter in Lethal Company since youdon’t get any audio cue when this monster spawns or comes close to you. He’s a silent stalker that spawns on the map with a favorite room and slowly starts going toward its target. Bracken can sense its targets through the walls all across the map.
Unlike most enemies inside the building that attack you when you get close, this one spawns with thesole purpose of snapping your neck as soon as it catches you off guard. As you go about your business of collecting scrap, it’s highly recommended to keep looking all around so that you can spot him before he comes close.
Bracken can be spotted by his shiny eyes, butthe rest of his body is completely hiddenin the dark.
If you spot a Bracken on your screen, there will be aunique hissing sound and new music will start playing. This enemy has three phases, and here’s what they all mean:
Stalking Phase
This is the phase that the Bracken spawns in as it slowly creeps up on its target. He’s completely silent in this andcan crouch around smaller objects to avoid visibility.
Scared Phase
This phase starts when you spot the Bracken for the first time. When in this, he tries toconstantly go farther away from you for a few secondsafter getting spotted.
Hunting Phase
If you stare at the Bracken for too long (roughly around four to five seconds), it enters the hunting phase andactively starts charging at the person who stared at him. The only way for that person to survive the neck snap is by exiting the building.
Once you spot the Bracken in your run,you have to constantly look at him and look away. Don’t stare at him for too long but also don’t turn your back towards him. Unfortunately, this enemy doesn’t lose aggro on its prey and will constantly come back to creep up on them every few seconds, making it difficult to collect loot.
you’re able to either end the run and try again the next day or try to get rid of the Bracken in the following ways:
If a Bracken manages to snap someone’s neck, he drags the bodyall the way to his favorite roomassigned to him when he spawns.
