Having been in Early Access for over a year,Coral Islandis a colorful and fully-developed game that is ready to reach wider audiences. However, with the full release of the game, previous save files will be impacted. It’s important to understand what’s happening as you move from early access to Version 1.0 and how you may transfer your save data to the full version upon release.
While not everything will be carried over, you can still start your game with a bonus that will make progress easier. We’ll let you know how to do this and how to make the most of your new save after the official launch.
What Is New Game Plus?
New Game Plus is a unique featurefor those who played the gameduring the Early Accessstage. As the full release arrives,previous saves will be incompatible with Version 1.0.
As such, they will be inaccessible and unable to be used to continue your adventure.
Instead, Early Access saves can be carried over throughNew Game Plus, which will allow you tobring over your coral coins, aka gold, when starting a new save.
If you start a new game that overwrites your previous save, your gold will be lost.New Game Plus will be unavailableif youoverwrite previous save data.
How To Start New Game Plus
Thankfully, youwon’t need to do anythingspecial toaccess New Game Plus. Instead, if you havesave files from Early Access, you can play your game as normal until the full update.
However,upon the full launch, you’ll find that yourprogress is reset to day oneand you’ll be starting your adventure to save the island all over again.
Before downloading the 1.0 version, this would be the opportunity tosell all that you haveto make all the gold you can to set yourself up for success.
Your gold will be carried over, so you’ll have anadvantage when startingfresh this time. Make sure not to overwrite your save. Once the update is downloaded and you’re successfully playing, your save will be compatible will all future updates.
Any DLC purchased can be reclaimed for Version 1.0.
How To Access Previous Saves
If you’d like tocheck on previous farmsyou’ve worked on, you cando so until June 19, 2025. To do this, you’ll need tofollow these steps:
If done properly, you should be able toinstall the Early Access Testing versionof the game, which willreplace the main versionuntil the aforementioned date.
If a Version 1.0 save overwrites the data for a previous save, you will not be able to access it in the Early Access Testing branch anymore.
