One of the more popular mods showing up in social media videos is fake fire exits that consume players. For understandable reasons, this nasty trick isn’t included in the base game, so it must be modded into it.

As with other mods in Lethal Company, your best bet for a quick and easy installation is through the Thunderstore website and app, which will automatically install all the files. This way, you’ll start encountering the Fake Fire Exit in no time.

How To Find The Fake Fire Exit

As you might’ve guessed from the monster’s name, it’s reallyhard to spot the Mimic’s fake fire exituntil it is seconds away from swallowing you. If youhold ‘E’ and the door openswith an animation, it’s already too late for you.

Youcan’t scan Mimicslike you can other monsters, which makesthat method of identification ineffectiveagainst them.

The best way to know which fire exit is real is toenter through one on a level you know. For example,Experimentation only has one fire exit, soyou’ll know which one is realas long as you can remember where you came from.

In the mod’s description, the developerstates that there are multiple ways to distinguishbetween real and fake, although they don’t say more. Some of these methods require specific equipment toincrease the agitation of the monster.

Try the following methodsto identify the threat:

When the Mimic is angered,it will briefly change the handabove the ‘Exit’ prompt toa middle fingerandstart to make a growling noise. However, when angered too much,it can decide to eat the nearest player, so it’slikely better to avoid them once identified.

If youannoy the door three times, it will immediatelysnap open and consume you, so be careful when looking for it.
