Whether you’re in public and hear something intriguing or have traveled to someone’s home in search of their dirtiest details, eavesdropping is a quick and relatively safe way to learn new Secrets in The Sims 4: For Rent. Because the juiciest gossip is stuff you’re not meant to know.

Eavesdrop To Learn New Secrets
Listen Directly To Conversations
In The Sims 4: For Rent, there aretwo ways to eavesdropon your friends and neighbors, and, like the new snooping interaction, it’s an easy way tolearn secrets about other Sims.
If you’re looking for the juiciest gossip and yousee two Sims having a conversation, you can have your Sim eavesdrop directly onto the conversation in theGossip category of the Friendly socialsmenu.

When doing so, your Sim will stand nearby and listen in on the conversation, and they mightlearn Secretswhile doing so.
From here, you may choose toblackmail Simsabout the Secrets you’ve learned, or honorablykeep their Secrets.

Press Your Ears To The Door
The other option you have for eavesdropping on other Sims in The Sims 4: For Rent is to try to glean something they’re sayinginside their own home.
Whenvisiting another lotother than your Sim’s home lot, click the front doorof the house, andif someone is home, you’ll have the option to eavesdrop instead of knocking.
Your Sim is then able tolisten for secrets from outside the home, and can choose to go inside and confront someone right away if you’d like.
Though it’s more for snooping than eavesdropping, the For Rent expansion also introduces the option to break into homes from the front door, so do with that information what you’d like.
It may take a few tries, even if someoneishome, and you may not learn anything worthwhile the first time you try, but with enough listening (and time spent on the front porch), you’ll learn a Secret or two in no time.
Seekers Of Secrets Love To Eavesdrop
If your Sim just can’t get enough of snooping through the lives of others and learning the freshest gossip right from the source, you may want to consider theSeeker of Secrets aspiration, also added in the For Rent expansion.
This aspiration sees your Sim desperate for news and willing to do anything to get it - even some less-than-ethical things. Check out our guide to the aspiration for more info!
