Each character has their own preferences, likes, and dislikes. The way you handle missions and dialogue can affect how they see you and if they respect you. It is important to understand the character you’re trying to romance so that you stay on their good side.
How Does Romance Work In Starfield?

Romancing characters start withunlocking them through the main story. Each romanceable option is a companion that you will find as you continue the main quest.
While in dialogue with the romanceable companions, you may get theoption to flirt. This can be seen as a dialogue option that begins with “[Flirt]”. If you are not close to them, they may take offense to flirting.
After raising your Affinity levels with that character and flirting with them when you can, you will unlock the ability todate them and then eventually marry themthrough quests.
How To Increase Affinity
To grow a relationship, you should take onpersonal side questsand make sure that you are handling situations the way that they would. For instance, Sam Coe used to be a part of the Freestar Collective. You can join this faction to get closer to Sam and gain more opportunities to show him that you have the same morals.
Keep your desired bachelor/bachelorette as your follower to increase your chances of being able to talk to them.
Handling situations the way your companion would mean that some companions would prefer to shoot first and talk later. Other companions, like Sam Coe, prefer that you try to talk things out before resorting to violence.

How To Marry Someone
Marriage will just come as a personal questline after you have gotten far enough in a relationship. To date a companion, you will have to raise Affinity until you get the quest to date them. To marry a companion, you will have to continue flirting with them and building the relationship until you get thequest to commit to thema.k.a. marry them.
When you marry someone, they willshare a bedwith you. Because they are devoted to you, you canask them to scavenge for resourcesfor you on their down time.You can divorce a married companionat any point in the game and start romancing another character.

Can You Romance Multiple People?
