Players inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 3run into the same string of challenges, whether they are seasoned players or are brand-new to the franchise. Learning how to deal with and handle the varying degrees of recoil that the game’s library of guns has to offer is one such challenge. Luckily, the Gunsmith provides ample opportunities for controlling the otherwise overpowering recoil that many guns come with.

The biggest challenge is going to be balancing your five attachments to reduce recoil without hindering other aspects of the weapon too much. Many players will accidentally lower their damage output far more than they intend to.

Reduce Recoil With Attachments

The easiest way to lower the recoil in your loadout is touse attachmentsthat support that. Looking at thePros and Consfor each attachment will tell you if there will be an effect on any aspect of the gun’s recoil.

Keep an eye out for weapons that show any of the following in thePros column:

The ELR Blackfire Compensator XS pro and con details in the gunsmith.

It is important to alsokeep the Cons list in mindwhen you are scanning through your choices. You do not want to reduce your gun’s damage so much that it becomes an unusable laser beam, so to say.

One example is theELR Blackfire Compensator XSattachment. While this muzzle greatlyimproves your horizontal and vertical recoil control, it alsoseverely lowers your damage range, forcing you to get closer to your opponents to have a fighting chance.

Take advantage ofunderbarrel, rear grip, andstock attachments.

Many options in these categories will greatlyincrease your accuracy with a slight hinderance to mobility. TheFSS Fortress Heavy Stockis an example that does just that.

Select Gloves With Stability In Mind

While your gunsmith choices will have a greater impact on your weapon’s stability, you do have some additional options in thegloveslot of your loadout.

Themarksman gloveswill help out byreducing the gun’s swaying motionwhile aiming. They alsoreduce your flinchwhen being shot while aiming.
