There are so many things for a little Sim to learn inThe Sims 4. Having a toddler can be a challenging but rewarding experience for any player, and it can be a much-needed change of pace from the world of adult Sims.

Nevertheless, being a toddler is a crucial stage of a Sim’s life, and there are skills they will need to learn and hone if they want to grow up to be successful. Communication is one of those skills, and even though it might not seem as critical, since toddlers have a decent level of ability in this game, it is still very important.

What Is The Communication Skill?

The Communication skill is another straightforward skill; itrefers to a toddler’s ability to talk to and communicate effectively with other Sims. Being proficient in Communication allows toddlers to say more concrete things as they improve on the skill.

How To Gain The Comunication Skill

To gain the Communication skill a toddler musttalk to another Sim, though they will only be able to Babble at first.

There are a few other ways to acquire it, such asusing the Wabbit Tablet to Watch Toddler Videos, but babbling to another Sim is the quickest and easiest option.

How To Improve The Communication Skill

There are a few ways to improve the Communication skill. Like all other toddler skills, Communication can be improved through things a toddler can do by themselves, or it can be developed with the help of an older Sim.

The available options to improve the Communication skill are as follows:

You will often notice that there is no progress bar above your toddler’s head when performing some of the required actions for leveling up the Communication skill. This is normal, asmost of these actions do not show the bar at all.

However, that does not mean your toddler is not advancing their skill if you can’t see it.

If you go into the Skills panel, you will notice that whenever you perform these actions, the background of the bar lights up in a very light green, indicating that your toddler is learning even if you’re able to’t see the progress outright.

This does make the Communication skill a little harder to keep track of, though.

Toddler Traits That Help With Communication

Traits are what make Sims' personalities unique, and toddlers have them too, though theirs are a little simpler than older Sims' as they only get to have one. This singular trait will decide how your toddler behaves in general and what they will need for you to feel fulfilled.

Some toddler traits also give themthe ability to learn certain skills faster.

To make a toddler an ace in Communication, you will likely want togive them the Charmer trait. This improves their ability togain Communication points, while also making them immune to Stranger Danger, which isa common moodlet toddlers getfrom interacting with unknown Sims.
