To stand a chance against your opponents inFortnite, you’ll spend a lot of your time hunting down powerful weapons and items. It’s easy to get eliminated right at the start if you’re unlucky with chests and floor loot. Especially if you choose to drop at any Major POIs where loot is abundant, but so are enemy players.
However, as time passes, a giant floating island will begin to rift onto the island. These Loot Islands are full of amazing gear that’s just waiting to be claimed. Here is everything you need to know about Loot Islands and how to find them.

What Is The Floating Loot Island?
Late into a match, a giant floating island will appear in the air at a random location, andthese islands are full of chests containing rare weapons and items that are usually unavailable anywhere else.Loot Islands also havea capture point that drops Legendary weaponsif you make a successful capture.
When a Loot Island appears,everyone left in a match will be notifiedof its location, and all themobility items and vehicles are essential to reach the islandbefore your competitors. You alsoneed to be properly equipped to fight off any treasure-hungry opponentsand take back any loot they’ve already grabbed.
It’s worth hiding out on a Loot Island to take out any players that come by.
By leaving a few chests unopened, you can lure enemies into a false sense of security, and then eliminate them while they loot.
How To Find The Loot Island
Around the third or fourth storm circle,Loot Island’s spawn location will be automatically pingedon the map, and after a few moments, itwill travel through a rift and appearin the air.Reach the island with the Ascenders attached to its sidesor by using the nearby rift to skydive towards the island.
How To Raise The Flag On A Floating Loot Island
Once the island has appeared and you’ve made it up, at the very top in the center of the island is a flag pole. As soon as youget within range, the flag icon at the bottom of the screen will start to fill. You need tostay there for the duration of the icon filling— and survive — to be able to successfully raise the flag and claim the island.
After claiming the island’s capture point, you’ll get a bunch of rare loot drops to grab!
