Epic Games added three new game modes in their Fortnite Chapter 5 update, broadening the platform’s appeal to a wider breadth of players. For instance, if you’re a music/rhythm game fan, you can rock out to your heart’s content inFortnite Festival. And there are no FPS skills required! (If you listen closely, you’ll hear a collective sigh of relief from us members of the TG staff who have terrible aim.)
Harmonix collaborated with Epic Games to develop Fortnite Festival, which contains two distinct experiences. Main Stage mode will feel familiar to anyone who has played games like Rock Band and Guitar Hero. However, theJam Stagemode is less structured, focusing more on creativity. That may seem foreign to those who grew up with guitar controllers and dance mats. But we assure you that Jam Stage is straightforward once you learn the ropes.

Main Stage Vs. Jam Stage
Before we startjammin'(wink, wink. nudge, nudge.), let’s break down what sets Main Stage and Jam Stage apart.
How To Equip Jam Tracks
Before using a song on the Jam Stage, you must equip it in your locker. Here’s how it’s done:
Now, your setlist is complete. Launch the Jam Stage lobby to get started!

How To Find A Free Stage
One of the Jam Stage mode’s caveats is that amaximum of four players can jam together simultaneously. Furthermore, each musical quartetmay only play music on one of the available stages located on the map. In other words, you cannot start a loop outside these designated play areas.
So, how do you know what constitutes a Jam Stage? Of course, there are apparent tells, like a dance floor and a raised performance platform. However, you’ll also notice thateach Jam Stage has a luminous rainbow boundarysurrounding it. You can jam out anywhere within this boundary once you cross it.

The stage you warp to when entering the lobby is often the most crowded. Travel further into the promenade to find less congested venues.
How To Start A Loop
Now that you’ve found a performance space, you’re ready to jam! Here’s how to start a Jam Track Loop.
You must beclose enough to other musicians to add your loopto their jam. If you share a stage with other players but are too far away, loop-starting becomes disabled. This feature keeps neighboring jams from sonically jumbling into each other.

How To Edit A Loop
Playing a music loop is the surface level of the Jam Stage experience. The real fun begins once you get creative and edit your loop. Press theEdit Loopbutton to open the corresponding menu. you’re able to tinker with three options:
Key
The key defines themusical scalethat the Jam Track adheres to. In other words, the key answers the question,“Which note is ‘Do?’.”
Mode
The mode defines thepattern of the Jam Track’s scale, designating what notes are used and which have particular importance. Mode often sets theemotional toneof a song.
How To End A Loop
When you’re ready to conclude your jam session, press theStop Loopbutton to end your loop.Moving your characterin any direction also finishes the loop.
