Charcoal is a basic resource in many survival crafting games, and this holds true forEnshroudedas well. In this game, you will be able to make charcoal fairly early into the game, making it easy to obtain. Obtaining this resource can be difficult if you are unsure what to do though.
In this guide, we are going to help you get your hands on some charcoal. This will include how to make it, as well as what you can do with charcoal. Thankfully, once you get the necessary equipment set up, making charcoal is relatively simple.

How To Make A Charcoal Kiln
Charcoal cannot be found naturally; instead, you will need to craft it;this can be done at the Charcoal Kiln.This is a workstation that becomes available afterawakening the sleeping survivor, who is Oswald Anders the Blacksmith.
Once you have the Blacksmith in your base, you will be able to interact with him, bringing up the Blacksmith production menu. The very first craftable item on the list will be the Charcoal Kiln,which just needs 20 stone.

If you don’t have this stone on hand, you canquickly gather stone lying on the ground, as well as use your pickaxe to break larger boulders.
Craft the Charcoal Kiln, whichadds the structure to your inventory.From here, select it and place it wherever you want.The kiln can be moved later,so you don’t have to think too hard about where to place it.
How To Make Charcoal
After interacting with the Charcoal Kiln, you will see a crafting menu with theCharcoal recipeselected. To make15 charcoal,you will need the following materials.
A batch of 15 charcoal will takefive minutes to process.
Wood logs can be gathered from trees, whiledirt can be harvested directly from the ground.Just swing your pickaxe on a grassy area to gather dirt.
What To Do With Charcoal
At this point in the game, charcoal doesn’t have the most amount of uses. Your first batch willmost likely go towards making the Forge,which requires the following materials.
With a built Forge, you can also use charcoal to make metal sheets,which require two charcoal and two metal scraps.This process will taketwo minutes,and produce one sheet.
