Prior to the Forgetting shattering the realms of the Valley and scattering people and places across the world ofDisney Dreamlight Valley, Eternity Isle used to be a different place. There were all sorts of machines and mechanical wonders, but they were lost to time… until you got the Royal Hourglass.

With its time-bending powers, you’re able to find pieces of these machines scattered about, but you’ll need a little help with how to make them. You’ve got the powers, Scrooge has got the know-how, and we’ll guide you on how to upgrade your Hourglass and get your first Ancient Machine built.

How To Upgrade Your Hourglass

Aftercompleting Scrooge’s other Friendship quests,New Ventures (And Adventures)andA Garden In The Desert, you’llunlock his next quest, Village Project: Gear Loose And Fancy Free.

Find andspeak with Scroogeon Eternity Isle or the Valley, and he’ll inform you that he’sremembered more about Eternity Isleand what used to be there, and bring up that it used to haveautomated machines.

First thing you’ll need to do isupgrade your Hourglassto level one, and to do that you’llneed 5,000 Mist to do so, and it’ll unlock the ability tofind new treasures,new ancient parts, andnew debris-clearing upgrades.

How To Build An Ancient Machine

With your Hourglass upgraded, you’ll getseveral new recipes, including thethree basic Ancient Machines:

Any of the threemachinescounts for the quest, but each one has itsown set of materialsto findviasearching for time riftswith your Hourglass.

Bringing a character with theHangout Bonus for Time Bendingcanspeed up the process, especially whenlooking for Ancient Cores.

Once you’ve gotany of the three Basic machinesmade, head over to theGlittering Dunes, andplace the machinesomewhere using theFurniture mode. After placing it, you caninteract with itfor abrief tutorialon Ancient Machines.

Return to Scroogeand speak with him again. He’ll congratulate you on bringing some of the ancient machinery back to the future, and reward you with 1,000 Friendship,500 Mist, and aLevel 1 Ancient Core.
