Taking care of your Pals inPalworldinvolves more than just making sure they’re fed and have a bed to sleep on. You also have to take care of their sanity (SAN), which measures how happy they are. Pals with low SAN may start slacking off, getting stressed out, and could potentially get sick.

When your Pals start to lose their sanity, what can you do to help them? There are a few ways to increase your Pals' SAN, some more effective than others, so you can make your Pals happy again and ready to work.

How To Increase Your Pals' Sanity

Many conditions can affect your Pals' Sanity, such asfeelingoverworked, hungry, or not being able to sleepare among the more common reasons. But it goes beyond that, andsome Pals need special beds to feel fully rested.

For instance, large Pals likeDinossom or Eikthyrdeer don’t fit on the Straw Pal Bed.Also, while some Pals can get by on berries alone, others may need something more substantialto keep them from starving.

Feed Them Better Foods

If your Pal is just constantly hungry or near starving, even though there’s plenty of food around, it’s a good bet they need something of higher quality, andyou’ll need to feed them something that offers an increase in SAN. When you have a meal cooked and in your inventory, hover over the meal to show the nutrition and SAN info.

While the Campfire has a few good recipes, theCooking Pot, unlocked at Technology Tier 17, offers many more and better recipes.

When feeding your Pals with low SAN, verify togive them somethingthat is going to increase their Sanity. you may either feed it to them directly or put it in the feed box for them to eat it themselves, so make sure you have plenty available andkeep feeding them until their SAN fills up.

If you feed your Pal by hand,it only lets you give them one portion at a time.

Give Them Proper Beds

Making sure your Pal has a decent place to sleepis a great way to keep many of them from stressing out. If you find that some of your Pals aren’t getting enough rest, you can get them a Fluffy Pal Bed at Technology Tier 24.

However, some of thelarger Pals need something bigger, and unfortunately, you won’t unlock theLarge Pal Bed until you reach Tier 36 of the Technology tree.In the meantime, there are other things you may do until you’re able to make new beds.

Palworld: Dinossom relaxing in the hot spring

Build A Hot Spring

Another great way to help your Pals raise their sanity levels is toallow them some relaxation time! And you can do this with theHot Spring, unlocked at Tier 9.

To craft a Hot Springyou’ll need:

Most Pals will use thison their own when they need to, but some may need a little push. You can pick up your Pal andthrow him or her at the spa(like you would a task), and they’ll go right in.

When you manually throw them into the spring, they only stay for maybe eight to ten secondsbefore jumping back out, so you’ll need to keep throwing them back in to increase their SAN.

Palworld: giving pal medicine to help with depression

Give Them Medicine

There are no medicines that will increase SAN, butif your Pal is neglected for too long they could get Depressed, Injured, or Sick. For this reason, it’s a good idea tokeep various medicines around, and you may buy some from the Wandering Merchants, orstart making your own when you build the Medieval Medicine Workbench.

Put Them Back In The Palbox

When all else fails, send them back to the Palbox to heal up and rest.If you have multiples of the same Pal that you need for a specific task, it’s a good idea toswap them out from time to time to keep their SAN from dropping too low.
