With the expansion of childhood experiences in The Sims 4: Parenthood, child Sims gained character values. Character values are measurable qualities that are tracked in-game and impacted by the behavior of your child Sim and their parents. There are five character traits that are surveyed in The Sims 4: Responsibility, Empathy, Conflict Resolution, Manners, and Emotional Control.

What Is Responsibility In The Sims 4?
While the character value of Manners measures how well a child Sim meets their household duties,Responsibility measures how studies rise to the challenge of external obligationslike school, assignments, and jobs.
Children must study, get good grades, turn in homework on time, and show up for work to be considered Responsible by the almighty Sims gods.

Traits Resulting From Responsibility
While flipping burgers may not be the most glamorous gig, it teaches teens to earn their keep and get their hands dirty. Likewise, being a grade A student teaches kids to apply themselves and seek out long-term gratification.
If child Sims miss out on these valuable lessons,they may carry on their bad habits into adulthood.Child Sims who have displayed exceptionally responsible or irresponsible behavior will be awarded with one of the following traits upon aging up to young adulthood:

Irresponsible
Sims with the Responsible trait will bepromoted in their career fasterthan those without the trait. They also gain the ability to teach younger Sims about responsibility, making this trait especially useful if they have younger siblings or go on to have children.
They will getless Tense when working hard, and they are likely to experience positive chance cards while working.
Sims with the Irresponsible trait progress in their careermuch slowerand feel compelled to slack off at work and put off paying their bills. Due to their poor performance, they will experienceunique chance cardswhile working.
How To Improve Responsibility In Your Child Sim
Trying to teach your child Sim about Responsibility is easy, butit takes a bit of commitment.Your Sim’s grades can easily slip if you aren’t consistent with their homework, but the Responsible trait is so beneficial that it’s worth your time.
Child Sims with thePerfectionist traitwill earn Responsibilityfaster, while ones with the Slob, Childish, or Lazy traits will struggle to improve.
