With the introduction of the Umbral Lamp, you can use it in various ways, including creating your own checkpoints. However, to accomplish this, you’ll need a special item called Vestige Seed.
The good news is, there are multiple ways to acquire this item and make your checkpoints, known as Vestige Seedlings. These function similarly to regular Vestiges, allowing you to level up your character, rest, and fast travel to different locations.
How To Get Vestige Seeds
Dropped From Enemies And Bosses
You can obtainVestige Seedsin the first way by defeating enemies and bosses. When it comes to enemies, it’sa rare loottypically dropped in the Umbral realm, particularly from enemies like theWomb of Despair, Bringer of Stillness,andMendacious Visage.
When it comes to bosses, it’sa guaranteed drop once you defeat them, whether they are main bosses or mini-bosses. This certainty exists because, in all boss areas, you’ll discoveran Umbral Flowerbedafter defeating them where you can use a Vestige Seed to create a Vestige Seedlings and level up your character.
It’s essential to keep in mind thatyou can carry a maximum of five Vestige Seeds at a time. If you already have five, the item will not drop from enemies or bosses you encounter.
Bought From Merchants
The second method to acquire a Vestige Seed is by purchasing it from specific merchants in the game, providing a reliable way to maintain a stock of them.
The initial merchant offering Vestige Seeds isWinterberry,located in Revelations Depths. To find her,you must follow Byron’s quest, which leads you to her location. Though she has a limited stock, you can purchasethree Vestige Seeds from her, each costing 1,200 Vigor.
The second merchant isMolhu who is located at Skyrest Bridge.
Starting from the Vestige there,turn back and take the stairs on the right side. Upon reaching the room,enter the Umbral realmand interact with Molhu.
In his inventory, you’ll notice that Molhu sellsunlimited Vestige Seeds, each priced at1,200 Vigor. He’s your go-to character when you want to get more Vestige Seeds, and the supply is limitless.
The same rule applies to merchants too; if you already have five Vestige Seeds, you cannot buy more.
