There are a lot of resources available inEnshrouded, and it can be hard to keep track of them all. Some resources are only useful in a few situations, while others are a necessity, such as wood and stone. Tar is a little less helpful, but from time to time, you may need to get this sticky substance.
In this guide, we are going to go over how to get tar. Overall, the process is pretty simple, but you may just need some help getting started. In addition to this, we will go over what you can do with tar.

Enshrouded is currently in Early Access on Steam and as such, the content is subject to change. We will update these articles as required.
How To Make Tar
Tar can be made in theCharcoal Kiln, whichunlocks after you have the Blacksmith. To make this, you will need the following materials.
This process willtake six minutes, and will yield 20 tar.If you place more materials in the kiln, you can build up a tar-making queue.

How To Get Tar
There are two other ways to obtain tar. The simplest way is tocook food a little longer than required. When you are near a campfire or fireplace, you will have the option to cook veggies and raw meats.
After a short period of time, the food will be cooked. From here, you can pull the food back, which places it in your inventory. Cooked food in your inventory cannot be cooked again, butif you leave it in the fire, it will cook more and eventually turn into tar.

This will happen with any raw food, but we suggestmaking tar from consumables such as mushrooms. These are plentiful in Embervale, so you won’t be wasting any valuable foods. Simply roast the mushrooms extra long, and you will have tar.
The second method to obtain tar is bycollecting campfires that have gone out.A campfire will burn for a long period of timeuntil it goes out or is forcefully put out.Once this happens, you can collect one piece of tar from where it sat.

Campfires can be made directly from your inventory withtwo wood.
There is no ‘extinguish’ option at a campfire, but you canquickly put the fire out by attacking. For example, aiming your wand at the campfire and repeatedly attackingwill cause it to go out, allowing you to collect the tar.
What To Do With Tar
Tar has a variety of uses, especially in building construction. With five tar, you’re able to make eitherTarred Shingle Roof Blocks or Tarred Wood Blocks.
In addition to this, tar is a main ingredient forFireball staff charges. These are fire magic spells thatburn enemies in an AoE.Overall, tar doesn’t have the most amount of use, but you will probably need a lot if you plan oncrafting staff charges or constructing large tarred buildings.
