To unlock the Iron Boulder encounter, you’ll have to fill up your Pokedex to 200 entries, meaning you either need to upgrade the Teratium in the League Club Room or have access to Pokemon Home. It can be time-consuming, but worth it for this rare Pokemon.

To be able to find Iron Boulder, speak to Perrin in the Savvana Biomeafter you’ve registered 200 Pokemon in your Blueberry Pokedex.She’ll show you a blurry image of Iron Boulder in Area Zero, and you’re supposed to use that to track it down.
How To Find Iron Boulder
To find Iron Boulder, fly to the Area Zero Gate,then head to Research Station 2.When you exit, go forward and over the cliffonto the ledge immediately below, head left around the large slanted rock, and then into a small opening.
If you hit the river, turn around. You’ve gone too far.
There you’ll find Iron Boulder, and you only have to speak to it to trigger the battle.
How To Catch Iron Boulder
Being a Rock/Psychic-Type, Iron Boulder resists False Swipe, soit can be annoying to whittle it down, but it doesn’t have any healing or recoil moves,which means there’s no risk in getting it down to 1 HP.
Watch out for the move Mighty Cleave, as it hits through Protect.
It’s not worth a Master Ball, as there are many more annoying Legendaries you can use that on. Instead, bring a Pokemon with False Swipe and a sleep-inducing move like Hypnosis or Sleep Powder, and a lot of Ultra and Timer Balls.
