Hardwood is a unique type of wood inEnshroudedthat won’t be available at the start of the game. Instead, you will need to explore a bit until you reach trees that provide hardwood. Tired of looking, or don’t know where to start? We’ve got you covered.
In this guide, we are going to go over where you may find Hardwood, as well as what the best places to gather this wood are. There is no special tool needed to get hardwood; the basic axe that you made at the start of the game will work just fine!

What Trees Provide Hardwood?
Hardwood can becollected from massive trees that have thick green vines growing around their trunk.These trees are noticeably bigger than any other tree that you’ve encountered.
Above, you can see some examples of hardwood trees. They dwarf your character in size, making them easily noticeable.
Where To Find Hardwood Trees
The best place to find hardwood isnear the Farmer’s Ancient Vault.To the right of the Vault, you will find a slope reaching down into aShroud-filled area where you’re able to also find Lone Thistle.On this slope, there are plenty of hardwood trees that you can chop down.
This area is calledRevelwood. You can find other materials such as clay, indigo, and flax here. Hardwood isfound all throughout Revelwood,but the Farmer’s Vault is a good place to start.
Although trees can be chopped with the basic axe, we suggest making afelling axe from the Blacksmith.They are a bit more efficient than their basic counterpart.
You’ll know you are in the right area once you see atall abandoned building.There are no enemies around the building (although bees might start swarming), andright past the structure, you will see hardwood trees.There is alsoclaynearby, which can be gathered with a pickaxe.
What To Do With Hardwood
Hardwood is used for a variety ofcrafting recipes with the Carpenter.For example, the Polished Wooden Bench can be made with hardwood, as well as nails, resin, and wood planks. Overall, hardwood is fairlyeasy to obtain once you reach the area around the Farmer’s Vault.
