The Pokemon series has been adding ways for you to make the cute little teammates you catch during your initial play through competitively viable, andPokemon Scarlet and Violethave added a new method: letting Pokemon learn egg moves.
Using the new Mirror Herb item, Pokemon are capable of learning moves that would otherwise be impossible for them to get via level up or TM. Egg Moves are special moves that, before this generation, could only be obtained by passing them down from parent to child via breeding. Many of these moves are very useful for competitive movesets or if you simply want more options.
What Is The Mirror Herb?
In battle, the Mirror Herb lets a Pokemoncopy its opponent’s stat changes, but outside of battle, it’s necessary toteach Egg Moves.
Where Do I Get The Mirror Herb?
The Mirror Herb can bepurchasedfrom theCascarrafa BranchofDelibird Presents. Look for the building with the Delibird logo. Cascarrafa is located inWest Province (Area One)justeastof theAsado Desert.
There are two stores in the town, but it doesn’t matter which one you go to.
The Mirror Herb will cost you30,000 Poke Dollarsand is located in the “Battle Items” section of the shop.
How To Use The Mirror Herb
First things first, give the Mirror Herb to the Pokemon you want to learn the move. After that, go to the summary screen and delete a move.
Then, find a Pokemon that knows the Egg Move you want to teach. Deleteall moves except for the one you want to teach. With those two Pokemon the only ones in your party, start a picnic. Wait a few minutes, and then pack up. At this point, your Pokemon holding the Mirror Herbshould have the new move.
